Can we unify the Stockcolor of the guns?

It would be a simple fix. Just load into the lobby, give an indication that the other players are “on mission”… and then you could still select your gear and whatnot. Shorten the lobby timer to… i dunno 10 or 20 seconds or so… and make it an option on the mission screen which you can toggle, much like Private or Public matches.

I would love something like that.

for me its more as so i can identify a weapons stats before buying it,
so i can look and say to my self:
=OK so blue Heavy blade will be faster than the Brown one but less damage=

its not really for others to identify what im using, as that matters much less.
you really dont start a match with
=well guys i have a Kantrael MG XII Infantry Lasgun, with Infernus and Efficiency=

maybe if you have a 4 man but at that point your on coms anyway and can just tell them if you need to, so for me its more about helping Players know what weapons stands where when buying not when matching.

right now i could ask Hey which Infantry Lasgun does more damage? and people would say brown
now if i said hey what heavy blade does more damage,… well its hard to say…

This is a strong justification for simply recolouring all the weapon varients to match the general weapon derivation theme.

This really should be a mechanic. Player loadout on start lobby would be extremely wise. It should even be an optional setting to load into the start lobby on QP/joining an ongoing mission, so you can know the loadouts before a hot join.

In a perfect world, we’d load into the pre-mission lobby, where we see what loadouts the people in the on going missions have. Then we’d have 15 or 30 seconds to make a decision, and then we are loaded into the game proper. This step can be skipped on reconnecting.

But, unfortunately that isn’t what we are having now and thanks to mods i found it so much more useful to just display the ranged weapons of people in the lobby than their melee ones. It tells me so much more that i need to know than the melee options. So even if the perfect world solution cannot be reached (as Fatshark doesn’t want to invest the time), it should be a simple fix to just display the ranged weapons by default.

This isn’t vermintide, after all, and ranged weapons play a much greater importance. As things stand, you are informed which knife your fellow operatives take to the gun fight.

But we are getting sidetracked with the topic.

Regardless with a growing weapon pool, having a quick means of indentifying weapons is important in my opinion. For the past 2 weeks i have been needing to consult so many external sources to keep track which exactly i am looking for, whenever the shop has some weapon on offer. Which serves nobody, i think.

A simple, universal color system would, at least in my opinion, really be useful… then again… i am also the OP of this thread… so of course i would

So I would say this:
On list of priorities I would put both of these lower than new content. Players can and will make do.

But I would put creating a shared langauge for weapon identification (color being one good method) as a key design/ui goal for the year, as more weapon patterns and marks get added its only going to get more confusing for players.

I would put an improved loadout review screen as a goal for Q4 or going into Q1 of 2024. But its a good call out I think we can all agree would have value.
