Same issue as last time I complained about this. Still sux big time.
Right now I am trying to get a really good cleaver and have spent around 500-600k for a Bull Butcher Mk III Cleaver and have gotten zero @ 370 or above. Best rated was around 365-368 (i forgot).
Honestly this is starting to become very annoying and is taking a great deal of the fun out of the game at this point.
It’s not enough that you think it is the best thing ever to RNG the crap out of uppgrading the weapons making it almost impossible to get a “perfekt” roll. You also decided that a wise move would be to RNG the procurement of said weapons as well.
It’s almost as if you don’t want people to play this game, or maybe this game is only meant for the most masochistic of players.
I’ve not had your misfortune at rolls at brunts but a 368 is perfectly good. You’re chasing a difference in like 10 points here. I usually get 1-2 @370+ from Brunts in that much money spent.
But I don’t see the stats bars being RNG’d as as big an issue as having them constantly bricked for slow recovery resources like plasteel and diamantine. Perks and Blessings being locked in such a way as to take a better base stat weapon and make it worse than a worse base stat weapon is deeply frustrating.
But that is the point - why are we having to rationalize settling on nonsense at all? We’ve paid the money for a PvE game – this isn’t PvP, what is the point of forcing all of these hoops as opposed to just giving players the agency they continuously ask for throughout all of the forums here? Replayability and artificially extending engagement? Considering the consistent backlash, and these forums are realistically only being frequented by a couple dozen people saying the same things over and over again, there aren’t new people purchasing this game, not in any real numbers.
Listen to the community, and actually respond in a way that isn’t vague nonsense that means nothing. I’d imagine that beyond a couple dinguses, the majority of players would accept communication if it’s honest (e.g. “Hey, we hear you on the crafting, let us see how we can split the difference and get back to you”), but instead it’s radio silence or abrupt drops of nerfs, etc…
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again I’m sure: I want to love this game so much because the gameplay can be really fun, but all the surrounding systems and functionality fight me every step of the way.
Red quality should just be an additional quality ugprade for existing weapons, that removes locks from perks and blessings as well as enabling modifier upgrades.
new red items make all previously farmed items obsolete
red item is perfect when you get it → no item progression
no ressource sink
My suggestion:
upgrade your existing items to red to make them better (owned items do not become obsolete)
modifier upgrades allow you to upgrade your item until it is perfect → gear progression
already high modifiers mean lower cost to upgrade to 100% (previous expenses on high modifier items are not wasted)
ressources can be spend on modifier upgrades
Now think again, which is better and who might be dumb.
Then again, your profile picture is a hairy ballsack, so you are probably not the right person to make such a judgement.
Locks should be removed for all gear period. If you think otherwise you’re downright retar ded.
80% out of 100% does not make sense. If you think otherwise you’re downright retar ded.
Totally agree that locks need to just go away period.
Red items … honesty I’m fine if those were done like in VT2 where they only drop as mission rewards - but could be scrapped for a special material to upgrade other items to red at some ratio. The hunt for reds was huge for driving play in VT2.
As for what red items do… honesty id settle for a cool skin and 80% base stats across the board, maybe with an additional random amount of stat points above the 80% limit.
Lastly - stop throwing money at Brunt’s armory. You won’t get a good item. Just wait some a decent grey/green item to show up in the normal armory or from Melk. If you can keep an eye on the shop for a week you’ll probably get what you want.
I actually got one (1) 380 yesterday after sinking another 92k into Brunts! But guess what: Upgrading it got me a turd in the end anyways, so now I only need another 6-700k for the next one. On a possitive note, I have tons of plasteel and diamantine since I can’t get any weapons to upgrade…
a 368 is perfectly good. You’re chasing a difference in like 10 points here.
Yes, you are correct about the stats not making much of a difference. But what would be the point if not to get a better version of what I have? I have a 375 with good perks but missing slaughterer as blessing. And I want one with about the same stats as the one I am looking to replace.
But I don’t see the stats bars being RNG’d as as big an issue as having them constantly bricked for slow recovery resources like plasteel and diamantine. The RNG cake has too many layers.
Yes, I agree. They should do something to make it less crap. Hard to say what since some sort of grind to keep ppl engaged is needed. But this is too much.
I’ve been thinking about this some more. While I do think its too much, and I think its really horrible and frustrating, I do think (as you said in your post) its important to help keep people engaged. There needs to be an excuse to go play a mission and sometimes a resource or blessing or whatever is that excuse. Because playing is fun. But really I think the problem is that the RNG itself is just a slot machine. Its not engaging at all.
Warframe did it better. The slots machine was attached to mission rewards. You picked a mission and played it to get a roll on the drop table you wanted something from. In this case…the missions are already a slots machine and then you get generic rewards where you go and spend them on rolls on another slots machine. That isn’t engaging. I dunno how to fix it but its a retention issue for sure.
For me the biggest issue remains mission selection. I can live with the RNG, even as it is, as long as I can play the damn game I want to play
I spent 250K Dockets on my Vet, and over 400k dockets on my Zealot rolling for Chaxes and the highest I got between the both of them was a 358. Felt very disheartening.
