Sure, but remember the conversation revolves around 360+ items, where 50% Mobility is very unlikely. So then hopefully you agree Commander’s point about Dodge Count isn’t really relevant to the conversation at hand.
My argument has revolved around the fact that you don’t miss out on targets cleaved at all or headshot/crit/firstTarg actually giving you important breakpoints.
Again, we’re comparing 360+ T3/T4 type weapons to the near-perfect all-T4 weapons Commander is fixated on.
So if we say that’s 60% average vs. 76% average attributes, then we’re literally talking about things like -9.60% dodge range vs. -8.96% for Latrine Shovel, for example.
So be honest: how many times during a mission do you think the extra 0.64% dodge range will make the difference in not getting hit?
Notice how he is now fixated on dodge, handily ignoring all the other very important parameters. Because there’s no argument he can make where they aren’t important. A 360 item is also orders of magnitude more likely to have a one or even two bad stats than a weapon that is 370+.
I’ve actually run out of ducats buying items that are viable for raising to blue (force swords, 350+, first target/finesse/damage prioritized mobility and warp resistance dump stats). I’m at 11k diamanthene, 2.5k plasteel, and 20k ordo ducats.
I’m not sure I agree with the sentiments in this thread that brunt’s armory is in a good place. I started pre-patch with over 2 million ordo ducats and no plasteel.
I run quickplay tier 5’s. High intensity, low intensity, regular, hounds, grims, scrips, etc. its all fair game as long as its t5.
anything over 360 is imo a fools errand for brunts. your odds are poor regardless but i would predict with the observable frequency it’s still faster to use the old rate, ie wait until the store 360 is the item you are chasing. as i’ve said a few times now that unfortunately hasn’t changed.
my prediction currently is that it would take slightly more than the cap of 5 million, on aggregate average, to get a 380 from brunts (ie with a .2% estimated frequency).
Yeah i hear you, its a little slow for my tastes. Like i said im overfilled with plasteel right now. Force swords and staves tend to be a rarity when compared to tac axes, devils claws, autoguns, and lasguns in the armoury.
Might be a good idea to just make myself some guns and axes, but to be honest, I really want to try and get a good force sword. Oh well. Plus they kinda just punched the gun psyker in the nuts with that recent fix.
psyker gets screwed extremely hard here, yeah. insanely rough in terms of the blessing inventory too. okay so think about it like this:
for every (T=time interval in which you expect to see any given item from a payout mechanism, changes depending on mechanism) playing psyker, you would expect to see one force sword and three t.axes since it has three marks. so if you only play psyker, you would predict it will take 3x as long to get a good force sword as compared to taxes.
but this doesn’t tell the whole story, since blessings are shared. so for every T you play as psyker the payout looks like FS, TA, TA, TA. but every T you play as veteran or preacher you also get a payout of TA, TA, TA but get zero FS blessings. and the fun doesn’t stop there - TA blessing pool is 6 deep, the force sword is 12 deep. i suspect some of these are T4s, but even so - it is MUCH MUCH more likely to see any given TA blessing, to get a TA with the two blessings you want and to get the good T4 blessings.
it’s legit profoundly unfair. the balance issues in this game do not stop with the obvious.
Brunt’s armory is another stupid useless way to waste credits.
Random white weapon rating…
And even if it’s high enough (360+), crucial stats could be creepled
And even if you pulled out good enough stats, you need to upgrade weapon, wasting mats with no garanties of decent perks/blessings.
This is just resource dump. Credits 1st and mats lately.
Meta here is back to using the armoury exchange browser extension to hunt the shop without even logging in. The modders were even looking into a buy button. That way you can do the end game content without even playing the game!
There is a LOT of arbitrary design in their weapon perks and blessings, and their talent trees, oh, and the penance/achievements. It all just so immensely feels slapped on.
Brunt Armory would have been fine IF AND ONLY they didn’t lock 1 blessing and 1 perk. But since it’s locked it makes it even more tedious altercation. Also the prices for the weapons were 5000 ordo dockets according to the last teaser for the patch of the Shrine of the Ommnisiah but FS wanted you to grind and doubled the costs.
Nah, they were always going to scale off your level and the original screenshot was of some no level scrub. I think its pretty stupid Peddler will sell you a high-power Profane for like 7500 vs the ripoff rate of RNG Brunt Exchange though. Someone should have considered that.
My sample pool may not be relevant for statistic but i feel like chance to get a lv4 blessing is much lower when you upgrade from green to blue… can anyone confirm? I’m traying to get a lv4 skullcrasher on Paul, it has literaly 4 blessings but i keep getting tier 3 versions at max of evry blessing.
