Bretonnian Sword and Shield on Foot Knight please?!?!?

The bretonnian sword and shield is like a jack of all trades, but master of none, so it gets wasted on a class that can choose 2 melee weapons. Whenever I use it on grail knight I always end up using it only when I need a shield because my other weapon does better single target damage and better horde clearing, and the cool versatile attack combos on the weapon never get used. It would be the perfect weapon for Foot Knight.

The Brettonian shield is like a 12-14th century French shield, and the Foot Knight’s Imperial Shield’s are 16-17th century Escutcheon, Targe, and Heater shields.

Warhammer Fantasy is heavily exaggerated fantasy versions of historical cultures with Brettonian being medieval France, and the Empire being like the Holy Roman Empire in the Renaissance.

That said, I definitely agree with you. They’d simply need an Imperial skinned version of the Bret Sword and Shield; and it couldn’t hurt to have some imperial flavored illusions for the regular longsword.

Also, if they ever do that weapons DLC, I would love to have some more authentic looking cosmetics. I don’t like the thicccc Bretsword that resembles a rubber prop, and looks so dull it’s like a club. And the imperial sword is this generic notion of a sword with a very broad blade that’s kinda goofy looking.

I don’t know if they will revisit this, but they could reskin a few weapons and spread them across other careers like so:

  • Flail → Brettonian Flail on Grail Knight
  • Billhook → Merc
  • Crowbill → Imperial Crowbill for Saltz/Kruber
  • Halberd → Giant Slayer Axe for Bardin,

Just a little tweak to the animations, and some new skins could unlock some new fun playstyles in addition to a weapons DLC.

I think Kruber’s One-Handed Mace would also be appropriate for Sienna, due to Sienna having one in Vermintide 1.

Although, that’d lead to confusion with Sienna’s Two-Handed Mace because (without some name changes) they’d both be called “Mace.” :joy:

I personally wouldn’t use it… but others might.
