Best Ogryn Ripper gun?

I know one is slower, one is faster, but they all have bad ammo pool.

Check this out:

I use the Mk V the most.

Mk. II and V are the two that stand out

both are awesome but the V has a much higher rate of fire and you have to handle the recoil

The 5 pulls ahead in actual usage, the much greater effective range (non-braced min pellet count) also contribute to more DPS and ammo capacity, and the high RoF (watch the recoil though) can boost burst DPS too.

Don’t listen to those “tier” lists, or to me for that matter, try them for yourself and see.

In my experience the “strong” variant of every gun is usually the best pick, because it is more ammo efficient and the little bit extra in DPS the fast variants give are usually not enough to off-set how resource intensive and weakish they otherwise are.

But that’s just my 2 cent.

Luv me Rippers.

I mean, honestly, I can’t complain.

Besides the MK VI. Don’t care for it. Wish it had a much higher pellet count.

I use the II the most because I prefer to use it against hordes and engage elites with the Can Opener blessing (can kill a crusher in two to three bursts).

I have an ok MK V, its big advantage is picking out shooters and specials. Way less pellets and less spread than the II, which makes it less great vs hordes and the only thing holding mine back from killing Crushers as fast as my II is simply because I didn’t god roll it. But with or without Can Opener, it’s still objectively better against ranged enemies.

This is only the case with most other guns because the high damage one didn’t leave anything for the rest to do. With the Rippers Mk2 has all of its power budget in a high pellet count and ramped up close range damage. It falls all the way down to like 33% of base damage. The other 2 Rippers hold onto a little over 50% damage, and fire less pellets for more consistent damage. Basically between 12m and 50m where Ripper shot evaporates the Mk V is a much better gun. It feels really odd to snipe things from the hip but it does work very well.

Mk 5, because Mk 6 is trash.

Mk6 is my best… more accurate u can snipe from hip almost no spred, saving ur ammo, and brased pattern help headshot hordes

Uh the MK6 is really bad compared to the other 2, are you perhaps confusing it w/ MK5?

Mk6 is definitely my favorite out of the three, The recoil on the two round burst isn’t as extreme as the MK5, and the braced has a Horizontal pattern perfect for shooting a wide group of enemies, like shooter peeking their heads out from cover. 1 Burst and they all die.

Mk2 is my second favourite. Mk5’s recoil is just too much.

I just want the mk 6 to have more pellets per shot.

It’s, just, i don’t know. Very Ok. I don’t exactly need it to overlap with the mk 5 with super tight, low pellet count primary fire and would rather it be closer to the mk 2. I think the primary and alt fire patterns are honestly good enough differences.

I don’t find the Mk 6’s 2 tap to actually be relevant or even save ammo. Most enemies above dreg/scab trash take more than a burst to die, and it doesn’t seem to be as stable on burst 2 as shot 3 on Mk 5 either. You need to center up any Ripper and let the crosshair resize so its not going to be practical unless it got a unique faster recoil/spread recovery.

They could give it the same pellet confirm for consistency easily and the Mk 5 would be better for unaimed use and better braced still.
