Been playing Helldivers 2 recently and

The CEO of Microsoft Gaming (Phil Spencer) said 2028 at the earliest, which’ll make a total of 17 years… personally, I just want them to take as long as they need to make a worthy successor to Skyrim.

Bethesda… Hammerfell AND High Rock, per favore.

Given the trainwreck that is most modern day developers and especially Bethesda (Starfield, lol) I wouldn’t recommend getting hyped my dude.

Of course not. I mean, I look forward to it but I won’t hype it up as the best thing since sliced bread because I’ll only be setting myself up for disappointment.

Actually sly Todd, just making rubbish games to test out different game mechanics. To read all the player feedback and then implement some of it into future scrolls.(kidding, or maybe not oO).

Either way, it’s going to be one of two things. Either a grand success(Buy Skyrim) or a grand failure, we’ll see.

It’s going to be awful…

Bottom line: if they’re still using their customized creation engine (which has it’s roots aaaaaall the way back nearly 30 years to the Gamebryo engine), instead of UE5 or a NEW custom engine rather than something that’s been cobbled together with paperclips, tack, and crushed dev dreams, then it’s going to continue to be a bad time.

DT: here’s a pittance of resources

HD2: AUTOCANNON MECH BABY, GO EARN IT

This is DT.

Press backwards key don’t move backwards
Press dodge, doesn’t dodge
Press swap weapon key, press fire, same weapon I was using comes out, not the weapon I just swapped too.
See through railings, can’t lock psychic powers through railings, but can shoot through
Press reload, only half reloads, have to reload again
Press run key, then suddenly stop, or come to crawl like you are moving over treacle
Enemies spawning out of thin air
Psykic powers that are supposed to target enemies prioritising specials, elites first, not doing it, targets the weakest of a bunch.
Players running off like headless chickens chasing kills, go down, rage quit…
Push back not working consistently on bursters
Purge staff not staggering enemies that it should be staggering.
P**s poor balancing

To name some of the endless BS

Then, when you get through that, you get a steaming pile of junk RNG BS as a reward.

It really is a no brainer at the moment…

And my HD2 is currently not working.

More exo suits?

Nice, Papa gonna bring me home a bang bang cannon.

Sadly, the exo suits are more gimmick in HD2 than they are useful strats… it’s a large target and they’re extremely low on armor/health. Barring using them against bugs from afar, their application is limited to lower difficulties and simply being neat rather than effective.

I’ve had some success using them as a time limited bartering ram to quickly run down a base or jammer but I think the auto cannon one will be a bit more useful at range.

I’m also guessing that in the future we are going to get a mech bay ship module that improves vehicles. I could easily see them adding upgrades for armor, call in speed, ammo and total number of mechs.

I find the current Exosuit really useful in some situations, usually shorter missions. The limit of 2 and long cooldown make it somewhat of a downer on the 40 min missions, but in the short ones where you can bring one down right at the start and then another right at the end, they’re pretty solid. You also have to remain mobile the whole time, if you stop to act like a turret, the mech dies quickly, but if you keep moving you’ll probably run out of ammo before the mech can be taken down. The bigger issue to me is how the missiles are so awkward to aim properly, like they have a constant left-favoring parallax error.

I’m not even reading this. Saying this on another game’s forums is stupid and dumb. Yes both together. Translation: THIS GAME BAD, OTHER GAME GOOD!
Just go play other game then, it’s fine.

This is more an indictment of static equipment, except even that has “unlimited” call-ins (3 minute cooldown is a bit much for the largely limited effect and nearly constant aggro that they create).

If you’re not moving you’re dead in Helldivers, period. Same naturally applies to a mech. The point was: at higher difficulties the larger target with low armor/healthpool are more liability than boon.

It makes an already niche strategem even less reliable because your deployment opportunities are limited to non-engagement periods. On Suicide Mission and higher deployment of the mech is super precarious because of the patrol frequency.

It’s a fun strategem, it’s just not very effective overall; being useful in some situations does not make it an effective tool. It’s better to choose an actual support weapon strategem in nearly every case since it can be reliably used throughout a mission than it is to choose something that can only be called in twice per mission (if you even get a clear opportunity to use it).

It was always niche equipment, even in the first HD… but you didn’t lose access to strategem call-ins, it also had more survivability and the explosion would take out surrounding enemies. The most hilarious use of the mech was as a sacrificial lamb as it could be called down and used as a distraction since the AI would prioritize nearby equipment.

I have roughly 200 hours in Helldivers 2 and I’m pretty much down with the game now… it’s feeling pretty bland at this point.

I do think a big problem with that, at least for me, are the mission types. 90% of them are just the same thing and fairly uninteresting, and besides occasionally Geological Survey are not that challenging.

I’ve always said that Helldivers at it’s core is best as a game not to be a “main game,” but to come back to every couple of months to play for a week and have fun blowing up enemies, yourself, and your friends for a bit, and HD 2 feels the same imo.

I cant wait for humvee to drive around

I’m close to 400, I can see the burnout.

When I found my optimal “Jack of all trades” loadout and was beginning to solo diff 9 and I agree I was starting to feel the same way.

I’ve since changed my build to support the team, I don’t take any backpack or support weapons and just run Autocannon sentry with eagle and orbitals.

Its dramatically changed how I play and the fun I am having, finding weapons in stashes and having to use them makes each match interesting!

Hope this helps spark you to keep fighting for democracy!

When is that coming out?

:person_shrugging:

We just unlocked the x2 autocannon Mech today, which is pretty BA, although the 150 ammo doesnt justify the slot IMO. So probably not anytime soon.

My friends and I speculate that instead of finding destroyed garages with burned up humvees, some will be intact.
