Been playing Helldivers 2 recently and

Does it? Have they locked us out of something before?

Afaik, our reward is just getting free use of the strategem for a while.

Not if you get the other one down the line.

Also nothing wrong with real consequences in games from play choices.

Most game today only play lip service to this mechanic and it’s only the ending credits in games that change.

I saw your video. That little dialog box looks like it isn’t part of the game.

I wonder if it is something to do with their anticheat. It might be worth uninstalling just the anticheat. Then use steam verify to make it re-install.

nProtect GameGuard clean uninstaller

When you got like several other games installed that work fine, easy to assume it isn’t problem with windows or hardware.

Will check it out…

Got no idea what is conflicting with the anit-cheat though, as I don’t use cheats.

I will have OBS, Object-dock, iCue and steel Series running other than the game.

And my anti-virus/firewall bitdefender.

People try to whitelist game folders in windows defender but it has another features that stay enabled.

Even Microsoft themselves suggest turn off memory integrity and turn off VMP for gaming.

Options to optimize gaming performance in Windows 11 - Microsoft Support

Also Windows Exploit protection. You don’t have to turn off globally, just set certain apps it turns off for. Helldivers 2 exe and if anticheat has it’s own executable separately.

I see these coming up alot interferring with games.

Windows Defender is great on it’s own. I’d get rid of BitDefender. No need to have 2 running.

Your OBS etc. Close them and stop their background processes in services.msc as a test.

For me Helldivers 2 crashes 1 in 3-4 games. Just annoying RNG chance I wasted 40 min mission. I’ve tried it all and really like this game…

  • Clean install display drivers using DDU
  • Check event log if any corrupt files at crash timestamp
  • chkdsk and sfc
  • CPU/GPU/Mobo diagnostics with Aida64, OCCT and my Asus diagnostic
  • Reset undervolts on CPU/GPU and disabled XMP
  • Tried an old PSU I had
  • Trial and error with one RAM stick each one by itself.
  • No signs of temperature issue on any component.
  • Assign only physical cores to the game using task manager.

Here is why I gave up. I’ve got 8 other games installed that work fine. I don’t know why I even went through all of that. Out of false hope I guess.

I grabbed a spare SSD to avoid reinstalling my live system. Installed windows without activating it and Helldivers only. Same problem.

Yet Darktide is a smooth experience. Help…

I don’t have defender running… I made a boot without all windows bloat ware on it.

And I generally don’t run obs unless I tend to stream, so 99% of the time no of the processes are running.

I love my machine optimised.

Generally, a dev company will never leave ready content unused. I feel the choice will come up again, and again etc…

That said - AHGS have already gone against the grain with other such set industry givens, in a similar fashion: the EXO event was supposed to be a 2-3 day ordeal. When the community completed it in 20h, they… released the EXO, no fake delays, no “but muh system”.

Maybe it should go both ways in the context of what AHGS are doing with the Galactic War.

When it comes to HD2, I’ve reinforced my own general principle of not having an immediate response/opinion. They cookin’, let’em cook…

I personally believe that we will just get access to the Airburst Rocket Launcher first (probably as a free but temporary 5th Stratagem) before both of them ACTUALLY drop as standard Stratagems.

Do not forget AAAA games!

Spiders, Owlcat, Larian, Ghost Ship Games, Irongate Studios, Mojang and Arrowhead and more are all top-tier AA devs, but I agree with your point.

I wouldn’t consider Larian AA. They’re pretty much AAA given their budget for Baldurs Gate 3 and the Tencent stake of 30%.

They do dress deceptively like AA devs though, I agree.

PSA: The RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher is currently more likely to wipe out your entire team by accident rather than actually down an Automaton Dropship. SES Lady of Liberty, over and out.

Ubisoft are going to collapse.

They have CEO who doesn’t understand gaming, just knows how to make money for investors.

The high prices for games are to force people onto subscriptions, once done, they will charge through the nose for it. Shoving the ESG and DEI down our throats… It has nothing to do with how much they cost to make.

Seeing as digital downloads are not physical (no production costs) and accessible to around 8 billion people world wide.

Subscriptions for playing games is a scam… Just like how Adobe moved over to a subscription model and now people/companies are now forced to pay double the cost they used to pay over a traditional 6 year life span of a product.

Amazon prime gave you TV for free as part of the subscription, but now they are charging an additional 50% of the original cost for the privilege.

Just look at this article regarding the price hikes Netflix has done over the years.

In just 10 years, the premium services have almost increased in price by 100%

And the sheeple just keep handing their cash over no questions asked, so they can ruin your favourite IP.

But that is part of the fun, hearing your teams scream as you accidentally wipe them all out…

then you get taken out from pain you are from laughing your ass off.

Pretty sure you can. It takes a bit of fooling around, without mods btw, but I made a party full of people I wanted.

One feature I miss in Baldur’s Gate 2 (if only you could grasp how much I miss Black Isle Studios :crying_cat_face:) was the ability to choose network play and build all of the characters for your party yourself before playing offline solo.

I agree with your assessment that Baldur’s Gate 3 is overhyped.

It lacks the depth of some of the old CRPG’s like Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura in terms of dialogue options and character appearance.

The fact that how ugly or beautiful your character was affected speech in Arcanum was fantastic and Arcanum is stll my favorite RPG of all time even with its flaws.

Baldur’s Gate 3 takes the traditional CRPG’s with many of options and creates a modern version of them.

Whether they succeeded (I dislike that they used the name Baldur’s Gate because Baldur’s Gate 3 feels more like a Divinity game than Baldur’s Gate 1 and Baldur’s Gate 2) is debatable.

Yea everyone jumping on bandwagon for subscriptions for everything

Instead of one off cost for apps, it is now about smaller cost per month. So they can forecast and predict how much they will make in next month. One off sales are less predictable. Either that or face retail copy with static version.

They seem to blame piracy for potential revenue loss. Maybe if they simply reduced it to more trivial amount people won’t go through the trouble of piracy then reword as potentially more revenue.

Best we can do is resist temptation to subs and cancel if don’t really need.

Thats pretty much how I made my own party tho…

I did not know that you could do it in Baldur’s Gate 3 as well?

Where’s that smug vagabond Eldoth Kron when I need him?

Im watching a friend stream rn and he is making characters for all his first subs, so I get a half-elf bard wizzard, its awesome.

U need to be level 3 if u wanna add toons after uv started a new game, but u can make 4 characters of your choice right at the start.

We need not jump to conclusions about buzzwords
