As certain careers (not characters) can be insufferable to play with and detrimental to game enjoyment like engineer, bw etc. I think the game would benefit from a function to not be matched with said career.

it’s not the careers that are the problem, it’s the person playing them in a “bad” way. By that I mean not playing with the team well. You mentioned the engineer so I assume at least some of the “insufferable play” you’re referring to is engis that blast their minigun the entire game without regard for teammates in the line of fire. I’ve played with that and it’s annoying, but so is playing with anyone who does that regardless of career. Waystalkers with hagbane come to mind…

I’ve found it can be really helpful to provide (constructive) feedback to anyone playing in an “insufferable” way. The other day I asked a hagstalker “hey will you please watch the friendly fire, the splash damage is really distracting and actually does a good chunk of damage”. He apologized and dialed it back. Basically I’ve found that if you ask people something in a polite way they’ll usually work with you.
I think you can also block people on Steam and it may(?) prevent matchmaking with them in the future, but I’m not sure as I’ve never blocked anyone.

Well I think engineer is too good at too many things so this is the career in this case, besides the people being prone to FF. And yeah I refer to the whole mow down horde, trollhammer a patrol and also melt a boss. I personally have little interest in playing with a career that play the game for half the team so I would welcome a blacklist function.
I’d rather avoid playing with them than quit the game over it personally.
