Are you joking fatshark - Update the steel legion set across the board

at least halved. 1400 Aquilas should be at maximum the price of a standard full set. That way we won’t have to spend 45 Australian dollars for, like, 2 skin packs.

At this point I wonder if you’re simply baiting, sarcastic or that much of an FS apologist.

I reckon it’s possibly all three, eh?

It just doesn’t make sense. They have a group of coats A that is fully animation rigged and has physics interaction.
Then they release a set of long coats B, pricier than before and they do not have the thing that the others do.

Reminder: We already had the situation that we played on the wrong patch version (VT2 early life). It is just very probable this is also another such technical issue. Maybe a file missing from the directories or something.
Somebody @Fatshark should really look into it.

… is what I want to say but I reckon you also experienced the Winds of Magic debacle, given your reply.

Fact of the matter is that FS has horrible (possibly non-existent) version control and branch management, as they’ve proven time and time again.

The most likely case is that it was either rushed out to cash in or whatever rig they had in place got overwritten by someone else and they decided to just roll with it.

IMO they should add “state” toggles to cosmetics, then the new helmet should be part of the original one. Heck the whole new set should be part of the old one. They could also just go full scumbag and do like Riot over at LoL and just charge a few bucks to have new sets like this one be an expansion to the old one. It would actually justify the price increases too.

Hell, stuff like the “For the Drip” mod could be a base option, and, IMO, would actually justify a price above the current one if people could just modify skins, and had features where you can toggle between different configurations of a set of cosmetic gear.

The current approach is just them choosing to be lazy scumbags. Unnecessarily too, it’s obvious a significant portion of the player base would be comfortable with them being scumbags about it as long as they just put the effort in.

What “For the Drip” mod do you mean? Please elaborote, friend.

You can change the texture (so also the color) of all clothes… so it is perfectly possible to implement that in the current game.
If one modder alone did it, a team can implement it…

So FS has no excuse to not do it.
And I agree with Overlord. Such system (models / textures) makes more sense, can permit them to earn money, give more freedom to players, is really better, introduce more variety (everybody could tweak cosmetics to wear the color / texture they want for their clothes)

Also, it gives a reason to really buy cosmetics instead of: “well I don’t like that, the color is not exactly what I would have chosen, but there’s nothing better”

On discord search for the " Darktide Modders " server, then search " For The Drip " (no quotes on either). It allows you to change colors and textures on any cosmetic. Works similarly to the custom weapons mod (also in there). Both are still being tested and worked on and unreleased in nexus yet but can be accessed in the noted discord server.

It is not often I do it, but today is the day.
I shall praise thy name, for thee has enlightened this dark cellar of a mind.

I’m one of the few who likes Winds of Magic. I enjoyed the weaves, and I loved the loot system and it’s something like this that we want to see for Darktide, but much more involved. Grind for upgrades, slot them in and out of existing weapons.

I even enjoyed the beastmen…

What sucked, for me, about WoM was that suddenly you were grinding two gear sets. There really is no excuse for that.

You missed the entire point of what I was referring to.

Winds of Magic released with about a years worth of bugs that had been previously fixed. It was something with patching an internal build but not the release one and even going so far as to claiming that what people kept reporting as bugs was fixed ages ago until they realized that they were working on the wrong version.

Something along those lines. Also splitting the entire playerbase into regular play, quickplay, weave ranked and later weave quickplay was what doomed WoM

Yes, that debacle. And it was hilarious, because it took them really long to realize it, too.
It’s a thing that really shouldn’t happen, so it never even entered anyone’s idea that Fatshark had a version mismatch with the update everyone was stuck on.
How long did that go? 4 months? 6 months? I forgot the time frame, but it must have quite the embarrassment to write those patch notes down, whoever was responsible for that.

After testing the mod I really have to say it’s insane how many possible combinations there are and how much of a pipeline they could have with those cosmetics.

I think it was at least half a year. It speak volumes about the arrogance and lack of proper management honestly.

They could be printing money if they gave people just a bit of leeway. Just look at Warframes cosmetic system. You can mix and match everything. You have color palettes you can chose for each item and there’s extra stuff you can stick to your armor as well, all with its own color palette to be customized.

Yet unlike FS digital extremes gives people enough free stuff to as well as an option to earn premium currency through trading. I also remember them even taking out a system because they noticed a single player was gambling away his money like an addict.

Just talking about it makes me realize how greedy of a douchebag company FS is honestly. Yes there are profits to be made and bills to be paid but their pricing and entire MTX philosophy is among the scummiest of the market.

Exactly

Now the question is…

Are they so stupid that they will continue their business as usual thinking they secure an income (that could cease at any time)?

Or will they be smart and do something audacious and implement this? They would earn lot of money for sure

I guess, as this impact the money machine (aka the horrible cosmetic shop), FS would have to get the approval of tencent

Basically if fatshark like actually slightly cared and tried
The store would be significantly less hated and more profitable

But sadly fatshark are incapable of such a thing.

It’s amazing
The actual things you can do when you’re not blocked by awful decision making and restrictive greed.

I always hated this idea in gaming where the addition of a premium store comes with cosmetic freedom being restricted where literally expanding it gives you more possibilities to what you can sell.
You think oh players are paying a premium for this it should be treated as a premium service but no it’s lazy and treated like dirt.
