There is really bad clipping on some of them, and I just found out that the zealot one even has the flames foalt around in your own field of view. They even get duplicated when you are strafing, so its 6 flames. Its already pretty bad that they are detached from the model, like they were just copy pasted from the other shoulder piece with the candles, but without adjusting for the new position. And they dont move propperly with the animations of the character. But this is just so annoying, to see those flames jumping around your screen during gameplay.
Why is it that there is no quality control whatsoever for these premium cosmetics? It just feels like such an insult to the game and the customers that fatshark doesnt seem to care about it at all. I mean sure ppl are still buying them, and the vast majority doesnt know or think about the possibility of getting them refunded, so why should they.
Despite everything thats wrong with the game and the management desaster of this company, Id still like to support it because what it does good, no other game out there even comes close to. But I really can not enjoy buying and using skins in this game because of this, its really a shame. Skins could be a work of art and something you really like owning and using, but them all having bugs like this is really a stain. Makes me want to just run around in prisoner garb.
And dont get me wrong, there are parts of them that are really nice, and way above what other games offer in quality. Maybe even better than what any other game offers. And Im not even a warhammer fan so I probably cant even judge how amazing they are regarding lore accuracy and whatnot. But they are just broken. Sad.
Having looked at all the cosmetics they added it looks like they made each cosmetic piece, the head, chest and legs, separately then added them together without thinking about the clipping issues it could have. I could be wrong but it honestly feels like they see the issues with the clipping, the floating flames, the disappearing hair etc. and just go ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ and move on.
The quality of the models is not at all worth the price increase and just highlights the already obvious price gouging happening here.
DKoK cosmetics have been a known hot ticket item pretty much since release, thereās literally no justification for the price increase aside from āitās the set everybody wantsā.
The Veteran skin in particular is extraordinarily poorly managed. I actually refunded mine and got my Aquilas back.
I could deal with the inaccuracies in modeling (wrong coat length, wrong collar, wrong eye pieces, wrong mask, no mask hose, etc), artistic license is a thing, but the chest rebreather is 3x as big as it should be and clips badly into hands/weapons, the gear webbing is both incorrect (should be Y-straps along the back) and really poorly modeled and funky looking from the rear, and the coat is seemingly intentionally modeled as if it were 3 sizes too large and hangs like a sail and has weird clipping around the neck with head pieces.
Overall the Krieg Veteran cosmetic ends up looking like someoneās Comic-Con cosplay of a Krieg trooper as a result, with horrific clipping issues to boot. It feels like a fanmod, not a paid premium cosmetic. The Tox-Field battlegear is an excellent example of how to get this sort of thing right, Fatshark has proven they can do it, but somehow justā¦didnāt with these āextended developmentā Krieg skins.
⦠the ogryn Kriegerās coat and boots seem pretty good⦠but now that I left a comment someoneās going to tell me the skulls fly off while moving or somethingā¦
