Arbites was a good class at release, now i played with it i dont say its weak, but feel really useless compared to other classes. At havoc 30+ experience the Arbites and Ogryn is the only 2 classes i cant do anything to win if i get a bad team.
the only thing that got hit on arby was bugged dog bleed
Interestingly, I’ve recently been testing various Ogryn playstyles, I even tried fully role playing as a brainless big guy, playing an entire match of Havoc 40 without firing a single shot, relying solely on my pickaxe heavy attacks, using taunt twice a minute, and still easily topped the damage.
No, Ogryn is the class that relies least on teammates, It is teammates who rely on Ogryn.
The Arbites are similar, only offer less support to their teammates.
you evaluate.. i killed most specials and ranged elites and the run was finished withing my average h40 run time of 35 minutes. before skitari arbitrator was my default frontline after i stopped playing ogryn because of ranged and specials, with him i do even more considering i have an ai teammate to command and superior ranged coverage with mobility
edit: 1st scrolled thru scrore history arbitrator game , 38 minutes
edit: frontline skitari, even more superior to arbitrator in frontline terms for me(plasma gun for ranged weapon :DD, more cc than arbitrator), 36 minutes
conclusion: you can absolutely win those games you jsut have to pick teammates with supportive abilities unfortunately(bubble, chorus, shout), even tho i can play without them no problem i pick my teammates to support themselves
If you won h40 with Ogryn without firing a single shot, that mean even if you have great dmg you got carried by your team, there is no way if you get a bad team on high havoc you perform that good with Ogryn, Ogryn and Arbites is highly rely on team. Again i talk about h30+, below or in auric difficulty every class have 1-2 build that you can win no matter what team you get.
Is this a bait account
Call me crazy but a “bad team” should lose in high havocs imo
As I’ve said many times, Havoc should not be used as a reference when discussing balance. Havoc was designed around an environment where power creep had already thrown balance out the window, so it’s only natural that the mode itself is fundamentally unbalanced.
In regular missions, Arbites has been clearly pay-to-win since its release and should have been nerfed much sooner. However, Fatshark has avoided making any meaningful nerfs, seemingly to protect DLC sales.
Ironically, Arbites is the DLC class I play the least. Playing an OP class that feels like cheating gets boring very quickly.
Wrong the regen mine and the tough when use stam. Was probably right for all but the regen on mine is too much 10 sec too much. 80 sec was ok 90 not.
yeah scum and arbites feel balanced around havoc instead of the actual game. but arbites did also get toughness restock nerfs that made it so you couldn’t just literally be at 100% toughness from walk it off alone.
No this is because now with the nerfs he still pretty defensive but not so great in dps. And bosses damage aren’t so great too.
Just throw a boss in a Arbites clutch he will just dying. And Havoc isn’t a difficulty this is a game mode. That’s why now nothing work well. Need to do the balance in auric with the actual power creep maybe maelstrom removing all the havoc from 1-20 and defining what is a difficulty and what is a game mode for now this is just a big chaotic thing
Mines got duration increase between restoration.
Dog explosion charges went from 3 to 2 and it feels.
Due to health increase of enemies enemies, long range arbiter shotgun right now is worse than agripiniaa combat shotgun, it fails as counter to heavy gunners, can’t one shot them most of the time even in auric, so against large groups old combat shotgun is better, more shots, bullet special that can one shot and just more ammo, overall better dps.
Oh and aside from bugged dog bleed being fixed, talent that give bleeding also got nerfed, they decreased amount of bleed stacks.
I am sure there’s other nerfs, i don’t remember anymore.
I did an auric maelstrom earlier(waves of specials, monster specials) with arbite(crusher+combat shotgun). Here you go, so underpowered /s
edit to add this part
I think you’ve got it backwards with team composition regarding arbites. In a lot of the games I play with mine, I’m acting as the glue. I do mostly solo que auric maelstroms so I get teams who can barely get out of their own way all the time.
BTL to rescue them from mutants, shoot at reapers to suppress, pull agro on bosses so you can kite while tagging stuff for the dog to kill, diagonal rush to force walls of shooters to deal with you instead of dumping the choke point you’re all stuck at, having revive speed on your curios means you can pick up a downed teammate before enemies can get back to their feet when you stagger them with your dog/grenade/BTL, and of course dropping 40% increased damage on everything you touch with a crusher too. Arbite is an amazing team player but it needs to be played differently than other classes.
Look, Taunt can instantly shut down the gunner’s AI, while Rumbler and Gauntlet can deal massive damage to monstrosity bosses, and those are some great threats in Havoc 30+.
Meanwhile, the Ogryn’s massive damage reduction and melee capabilities can easily clear any hordes and melee elites, the only thing that can stop this human tank is the specialists. Once you’ve mastered how to deal with them, there’s simply nothing that can threaten you.
A simple proof: during those 2 Havoc 40 matchs, my teammates were down for a long time, many times. I didn’t receive much help from anyone.
But we succeeded in the end.
I wouldn’t call it a skill issue, but if you feel you need to rely on your teammates to help you achieve anything while playing as an Ogryn, then I think you certainly haven’t yet found the right way to handle that situation.
And Arbites is in a similar situation, though bit trickier to deal with Boss, but has a dog to take down those annoying specialists. Like Ogryn, Arbites is still one of the classes that need the least protection from teammates.
Be a shield for your teammates, rather than letting them become yours.
You have a build for me?
What weapons do you prefer?
I want the ogryn one from diaoyu, because im curious to see what works for other people
Oh well not sure if anyone was asking me but I’ll share anyway.
For current version, Cleaver IV’s high attack speed paired with Go Again! talent gives Ogryn the possibility to use Taunt more than 2.5 times per minute. Do notice Taunt not only protects teammates but also a great self defence for Ogryn himself, gain significant amount of toughness while controlling enemies, go spamming it.
Meanwhile, Gauntlet allows Ogryn precisely eliminate specialists from distance, and its special attack can take out clown car of elites, making Ogryn effective at all ranges. Do bring the Explosive Offensive bessing.
