Issue Description (Required):
December last year I reported an issue with FSR3.1 frame generation causing bizarre visual artifacts and glitches near all 4 edges of screen, as well as bizarre screen tearing with certain attack animations.
Now that DLSS4 has released, I can make a more conclusive report here.
The main problem here is the flickering partial images.
Regardless of upscaling method used, the visual artifacts continue to occur. They do not occur when FSR3.1 frame generation is disabled. Changing the frame rate cap has seemingly no impact on the occurrence of the visual artifacts.
None of the video settings expect turning on/off FSR3.1 frame generation had any notable impact on the occurrence of these artifacts. Turning V-sync on/off had no impact on these either.
Interestingly enough, the 3rd party Lossless Scaling frame generation did not produce any of these artifacts in my tests, but they did not run as smooth as game-native FSR3.1 frame generation and had some other image interpolation issues.
The specific preset of DLSS model had no impact on this issue either. It seems to be entirely caused by FSR3.1 frame generation itself.
I’m on an RTX3060 GPU hence don’t have access to DLSS frame generation. I’m unsure if it happens for that version of frame gen as well, but it happens 100% of the time with FSR3.1 frame generation.
I hope this can be addressed in the near future since it’s really annoying to look at in game and degrades visuals tremendously during combat.
