Any News On Vs Mode?

I swear Vs mode was a thing coming out not too long after Winds of Magic? I signed up for the beta and I’ve heard nothing.
But my life also went into a major upheval and I may have missed it…Any news?

I can’t remember any news about vs ETA. They gave you the option to sign up for a future beta when they announced it and there is a trailer for it. Has been a few comments about it when so done asked on stream but nothing else that I have seen.

There was this Devblog#1 in September last year. Afaik there is nothing more until now.
Well, just as i repliedI saw a new Sign-Up accouncement, posted just an hour ago on twitter
maybe it’s not so far until Beta :crossed_fingers:

Hm, that clip seems interesting to weird. Either this is some kind of mini-bestiary or the player can chose his enemy unit the same way as the heroes (see the little candles similar to Hero selection screen).

If this is true, it could mean that the player decides for one enemy unit at the beginning of the match and keeps this one throughout the game in comparison to the random selection of L4D (also meaning up to 4 Assassins at a time). This way they could even bring in Skaven talents (raise your hand for Trueflight Ratling Gunner).

Well, all just assumption. But some more clarifications could be helfpul. Especially a word on the stand-alone versus implemented discussion.

I think the presentation of the ratling gunner ist simply cosmetic, they did this with announcements for WoM too (rotating beastmen - ungors, beastigors, minotaur). But it would be cool to have those in an official beastiary too :grin:

I think that’s a long way until FS will actually communicate on a pleasing level, atleast they try a little better now… hopefully on-going.

I think people should pick their spawn-critter, but there should be a limit. This way, people cannot pick 4 assassins or 4 Packmasters. Those would be instant losses if all 4 people got grabbed. So there has to be a limit on grab-type monsters being picked at any one time.

Left4dead hardcapped it at max 3 in appears at a time, and no dupli ates normally. If no duplicates then it’s not a problem since we only have three incappers (gutter, leech, hook).

Only 3 specials at a time or three times the same special at a time? Although, no duplicates should make it clear what you mean.

So, I have to ask: Are you absolutely sure about these caps? While it has been a long while since I played the games (and especially versus) but I am fairly certain that there is an achievement for incapping the whole human team in 5 seconds or less. And I think you need more than just one Smoker and Hunter for this.

As for Left4dead2, yes I’m sure. Don’t know about the first game in the series.

There were normally no duplicates in Left4Dead2 and you could have a max of three incappers at a time (out of Hunter, Charger, Smoker, Jockey). The definition of incapper here is a special that is pinning you down somehow, making it impossible to act, and requiring an ally to save you.

As for incapping the entire team in a certain amount of time, that would be putting everyone in a “downed state”.
