(ANSWERED) 14 000 aquilas to new XBOX Store players, are you serious?

Seriously, FTP mechanics in a full priced game feels scummy. What’s even more crazy is that best solution for the community and FS wallet is so stupidly obvious, its a wonder why they haven’t implemented it.

Let. Us. Gain. Currency. Via. Playtime.

Considering that the game only allows you to buy cosmetics, no “pay to win”, this ability to get aquilas would be a great feature. Even let them set a weekly/monthly limit on the number of possible aquilas you can get.

But unfortunately, I’ve stopped believing in miracles now. They really just want to make more money. Probably to cover the production budget due to the game’s bad start and negative reviews in the first six months.

And by the way, why are we talking about 25,000 aquilas, where did you get that number from?

Apparently you can get the normal launch bundle which comes with 9300, then buy the imperial edition bundle as an upgrade that gives 2500 + 14000.

I just can’t see it that way. Things go on sale all the time. Special deals are given all the time. Black Friday happens every year. This does not mean that any perk given to the new customers who jump on this deal should be given to the old ones. I just think this line of argument is fundamentally flawed.

Fix the game. That’ll do it for me.

Well, they do, but they don’t follow up on everything that the vocal minority on the forums write. They may simply disagree with what we say. Some may agree, but the top brass does not. I don’t know. But they do listen to feedback, and even implement some of it, just not the things that I would really like to see change but maybe I’m just not the target demographic for this game.

Sorry to come off blunt. I’m just a bit antsy about categorical statements. It’s not productive… but neither is my ramblings on the forums of a game that I don’t even currently play…

i’m not talking about sales/discounts, i’m talking about patch, which is not really fixing anything, just ruining that little fun we got, but i suppose for xboxers it would be easier to play, otherwise i can’t understand why they did this, instead of adding something new for all players. And dev’s reaction on our feedback which is something like “Cry about it”, then “We working on it” and then passed a few weeks, discount ended, patch released and still nothing.
Anyone here think they actually care? If you still playing this game - go chek if they fix zealot voice on chem-safe mask, or any other, recent zealot gasmasks, i heard it without muffle, loud and clear, and wrote about it in like 16 days ago. Did they actually fix it? Did they fix this one of a plenty bugs they “acknowledge”? Or they did release nerfing patch instead, for new audience?

Ahh, I’m sorry, I misunderstood. I was talking about the 14k Aquillas they were given.

I think a lot of the things in the new patch are going in the right direction, but I agree that the game got a whole lot easier. With that said, I do complete heresy runs, but heresy with lots of extra specials and modifiers… that’s tougher.

There are players who are far more skilled than me and they are probably starting to find the game a bit too easy.

As for console… I will never understand why Halo sold a single copy. FP games need mouse and keyboard. I prefer controllers to platformers and twin-stick shooters, steering wheels and pedals to racing games, and HOTAS for flight sims but I’m also a bit privileged in having access to that.

Vt2 was much better, as it was not dependent on monetization but playing the game. Like I said I would be fine having a few premium sets, or having a ”a palette of different colors” that we could apply to our armors.

The two games are identical here. Both games only had cosmetic cash shops, but V2s was much better. None of us know any numbers, but V2 sold expansions and prestige classes. Darktide might do the same in a while. We’ll see.

Also, V2 was absolutely dependent on monetisation. They could not keep the lights on otherwise, and both had cosmetic cash shops.

Ok I’m disturbed by the idea that the Managers at Fatshark somehow think that there hasn’t been enough backlash regarding the Aquillas debacle (i.e XBOX imperial edition getting vastly more than we did)

@FatsharkCatfish @FatsharkLev

I have been absolutely disgusted by the conduct of the Fatshark upper managment since beta, and the only reason I haven’t kicked up a fuss regarding the Aquillas discrepency, is because I’m tired of wasting my time talking to a brick wall. I feel like despite the professionalism of the Community Managers, our complaints are ignored by those above them.

So here is my last attempt, my shouting into the dark:

PLEASE do the right thing, and show that you value your steam players, and their investment in your game for the last year, and give us the difference in Aquillas.

Give up, mate, i’m already lost my hopes and returned to deep rock, GSG true gigachads especially compared to FatShark, they listen and actually include some of suggestions in game, FS could learn something, if aint greed.

Seriously, FTP mechanics in a full priced game feels scummy.

This, all the way!

Another day, same complaint. We want our imaginary money FatShark.
Joke aside. It seems that the the loyal fanbase and testers, that gave their time and their money to support this product, while they could have played ANY OTHER GAME… goes to show how little FatShark cares about the people that stuck by them through the mud.

Without these players, you are nothing and the game is nothing. Even bigger devs who disrespected their audience, lost them to another product.

“We understand that you feel unappreciated. Yada yada yada” - That was the most corporate bs answer they came out with. You understand, but you don’t give a frag.

“we are currently looking into providing you with a proper reward for your support in the coming weeks” - This would have been such an easy fix. Why do you need to look into it? The answer was there. Nobody asked for more, they just asked to be treated the same as the xbox players.

I guess now they think they can get away with it since they have their influx of players from xbox.

We should lodge a complaint to EU consumer protection and national bodies of our respective countries. Only way to make them accountable for the false advertising as they said everything would be earnable in game, this means that aquilas should be earnable by playing. If this mechanic is not announced then push ahead with complaints. We as consumers have our rights, so lets push it since FS will not listen otherwise.

I don’t understand what you said about permanent death. It seems that no one said about it earlier in this topic. And of course such an option, if it appears, should be only voluntary by the player’s decision (for example, when creating a character). But it seems to me that in Darktide it is inappropriate.

Of course, that it would be nice to be able to earn aquilas. And of course x2 that in the concept of gameplay Darktide, which is based on the constant repeating of the same missions (which are still very few) for hundreds of times, the presence of things that can be grabbed (and a large presence of them) is very important.

That is what we are trying to keep this thread on the forum for. The longer it stays in the tops on views - the higher the chance that we will be given a sensible answer.

If you buy the imperial edition upgrade on xbox its just 2500 aquilas, they don’t double back and throw the separate edition deals for the actual game purchase. The promo was for the basic version of the game (9300) or imperial edition (14000 + 2500). This needs to be corrected in the pearl-clutching record.

A strange way to adhere to the harmony of the universe xD

Yes, they said this would be addressed in the upcoming weeks, and its been close to 3 weeks now…

Now the only way to show our determine: Don’t buy any skins before it be addressed. Although many will betray it.

well many people don’t feel treated as a customer to begin with, more like Guinea Pigs testing their mess, carrying them all the way to the finish line, just to be dropped for the next milkable audience

FS treats their loyal customers badly,

  • buy in beta that in reality is a glorified pre launch (when the game wasn’t ready and actually needed - - feedback, but it released worse after the prelaunch (like how?))
  • claiming full release of title that can barely seen as beta,
  • missing release/basic features,
  • lies about release content,
  • lies about design direction,
  • stringing people along,
  • not clearing things up,
  • dubious reasoning for/ straight up not holding up their announcement deadlines,
  • leaving the game in a horrible state for ages in favor of acquire new audiences (most likely contractually obligated but still)

and after all that you want players be like “14k aquillas for the second wave, thats fair” yeah no…

if the game had been a banger from the start, yeah sure lure in some players with ingame currency whatever
can only wonder if they see us like this…
