(ANSWERED) 14 000 aquilas to new XBOX Store players, are you serious?

I’m not saying they are “lesser” or such. Just that a relatively new service will obviously field far less players.
So when you buy a game reliant on a strong online community there, you just get left in the dust.
It’s a risk you take and obviously it didn’t pay off here. Of course I feel a bit for Gamepass users who didn’t know any better. But as a PC gamer who bought Capcom games on Steam before, I also experienced the short end of this stick.

As a gamer it should be your due diligence to get your information where the online community will be. Rule of thumb:
Don’t get Fighting game multiplatform releases on PC.
Don’t get FPS game multiplatform releases on console (Halo exception).
Don’t get Japanese games on PC when they also launch on Playstation.
Don’t get an EA, Ubisoft, Epic or Activision Blizzard release on a non-native platform.
Don’t get online-only games that launch on Steam on any other services like Gamepass.

This is not a comprehensive list, there might be more. But following these tried and true Gamer steps will save you from pain and feelings of betrayal.

And yes, I know. Microsoft just can’t drop it. They are still salty about the Games for Windows Live thing and keep trying to home in on Valve. An absolutely silly mistake that will cost them over and over, as long as they keep trying.
This is the equivalent of a new start up trying to take on Nike or Adidas with a new shoe brand. It won’t go over well.
That ship has sailed.

But someone in the Xbox store bought Darktide on October 1st or 2nd. This is triple offensive xD

Unexpected turn. Perhaps I should say «glad to help»?

The gift that keeps on giving:

What is the PR dept. doing?

I don’t understand.

Bold of you to assume they have one. It appears to basically just be the CMs and sometimes an actual project manager wandering off to give an interview.

I’ve been annoyed plenty of times the last year because of the pisspoor conditions this game has been in, but this is the first time I feel anger. I love the IP and Vermintide so decided to back this game with the Imperial Edition. In exchange I got broken promises and the honour of getting to beta test the game for a full year.
Despite the solid gameplay the lack of maps quickly turned playing this game into a slog, but I carried on.
None of the customisation I was hoping for was present, with gun crafting just being a dice game and all cool cosmetics hidden behind an extra paywall. Because lets be clear, 90% of the earnable cosmetics are reskinned dogshit. The price of the good stuff is higher than what you deserve to get so I decided to save my pre-order bonus for something good.
And now you just decide to give a nice bunch of freebies to new players in a desperate gamble to finally get some good ratings…

Could you FOR ONE SECOND stop spitting on your existing playerbase? Without us the game would have been dead in the dirt, and honestly I start to feel like that’s where it belongs. Whoever are making the decisions up there are a disgrace to the gaming industry.

I agree that the aknowledgement of the playerbase and every issue it has slogged through has been close to nil.

Honestly can’t help but wish Catfish held actual power in the company so she could get the idiots in management to stop doing idiotic things.

Seriously, how do you manage to knock the wind out of the sails of ‘great update and hopefully more to come’ this fast???

I would really like, and I believe, that the community managers @FatsharkLev @FatsharkCatfish will convey your feedback to the management of Fatshark.

If someone on forum manage to win one, please let us know how the items quality stands… I expecting a fallout76 canvas bag level of debacle… :smiling_imp:

This might be a crazy idea. But… maybe trying to talk to Fatshark is pointless. I mean it’s been years of this kinda stuff and it just gets worse, not better.

Maybe the better route is to actually start contacting Game Works instead. I mean they license out from them. Their entire game franchise is dependent on Gearworks “okaying” everything since it’s their IP. You know Gearworks isn’t happy about Tencent getting a majority stake in the company.

I dunno, maybe another route to put pressure on the incompetent upper management of Fatshark?

It’s not crazy. It’s absolutely true. We are just a loud minority on the internet and Fatshark has to cater to their entire player base.

I bought cosmetics in Vermintide. I really liked the cash shop there. For Darktide… the mission gameplay is exceptional, but everything in between is really really bad.

The Mourningstar… the keep was so much better. How often do you rerun with the same group here vs how often you did it in Vermintide?

They’re not really catering. They’re just exploiting the wider player base. Catfish has all but said that our concerns are being dismissed by the higher ups because ‘most people aren’t leaving feedback, which means they like it’.

Well that’s mostly a philosophical difference then. They have the metrics to know what works for them and what does not. I stopped playing Darktide because of the looting system. I came back for the new patch (which is a huge step forward imho and better than the classes of V2 since it allows for more fine-tuning) but that’ll last a bit and then I’ll probably leave again. My inventory is filling up with crap that I will never bother to get rid of because it just takes to bloody long.

I’m just one person. One data point on this. Me staying or leaving will make no difference to FS.

Funny enough, after the talent trees update I kinda wanted to support the devs and bought the imperial edition. And then I learned about the 14k aquilas the xbox users are getting.
It would be hard to convey in words how I’m feeling without risking a ban.

This is the original physical promo set from over a year ago, and it would seem that they are trying to give the left over away. Possibly to win over community sentiment?

I just bought the game Imperial Edition in Steam and realized that I was in a hurry. After reading that new Xbox owners given so many Aquilas, I requested a refund. A question of principle.

Can you tell us more about the company that owns the licenses? And isn’t Games Workshop the owner of the licenses?

Amazing logic!
