An obvious fact

Sure not. A vet who use the buffed weapons with 40s cooldown VOC must be weaker than 30s but no buff. Most of players will not want to use the other two abilities in high difficulty games.

ok, for starters, how about the fact that for 99% of players there is absolutely NOTHING to do because of the lack of new content? We haven’t had a new regular map since Dark Communion. After that, an entire YEAR went by with no maps, resulting in No Man’s Land. An entire YEAR with nothing new to do for casual players. Nobody cares about mortis trials after a few rounds of trying it / getting the penance.

New class/quarterly big updates always provides a temporary boost (apparently, the intended effect, according to Fatshark: link) and then people quickly realize that the game is still the exact same under the surface. Tons of annoying bugs, sound not working, balance issues (using the same old nonsense meta weapons gets boring FAST) and endgame stuff being simply irrelevant for a vast majority of people.

The rest of us “hardcore” players stick around because the gameplay loop is satisfying. We will stay around for as long as the game remains interesting and challenging.

If you know it, you should understand the buff for useless weapons and talents means new updates which worth they take a play. Nerf may be not.

I guarantee you, that if these patches had 0 nerfs, only buffs, but also 0 new content for a year, you wouldn’t suddenly see an uptick of players. It would be the exact same. It’s not the nerfs, it’s a natural decline of the content release cycle (you can blame expeditions for this, apparently) and competing game releases that hold peoples attention much more.

Is this the waiting room for the inevitable Chinese playerbase review bomb next week?

It’s already begun.

I’d love to get a count on how many people here are both mad about this review bombing and still have a negative 1k hour review of their own up lol

So you want to tell me horible launch, bad technical state, slow content drops, lack of comunication and ignoring feedback dont affect player numbers but nerf have?

Dude, you and others are in such denial its isnt even funny; its a tragicomedy at this point.

I changed my review multiple times over the course of my 1968 hours - I ended up leaving a negative one after it became increasingly obvious they don’t listen to player feedback nor care to implement the most basic of QoL changes even though mods have been picking up their slack for almost FOUR years now. “How can you leave a negative review on a game you have 2000 hours on!” Just because something is enjoyable doesn’t mean it can’t be improved on while simultaneously having glaring issues that have yet to be addressed in years.

With nearly half of recent Chinese Steam reviews drowning in server issues and crash reports, but it only takes one cherry-picked screenshot to create an echo chamber on the forums. Then again, I’d rather attribute it to their subpar translation tools failing to grasp the context than assume this is being done maliciously.

I have a negative review up at 1k+ hours but I’m also not mad about the review bomb, I disagree with the reasons for the negative reviews though

so count me in but it seems fine if you don’t ignore all nuance

lol of course it’s fine. Just powerless consumers doing what they can.

They all affect. That doesn’t matter the balance is an unavoidable question.

I have the right to post my review of dissatisfaction. Are you going to deprive it? No way!

And other people have a right to laugh at your “reasoning”. Fluctuations in the player population after new content releases are normal. Casual players consume the new content, get bored and simply lose interest. The “core” community keeps playing. Correlation is not causation.

I showed my view. The nerf patch really cause a decline of average players online than other buff patch.

Why don’t you understand it?

Glad we agree on something. You “showed your view”, not a “fact”.
