Every time fatshark launched a version with talents buff and new weapons, the average number of online players would reach a high level. When they nerfed something, the number of player always reduced to a low level.
Main timestamps:
Before patch 13, the game was undeveloped and nearly dead.
October, 2023. The patch 13 came out. Maximum number increased to 33k.
April, 2024. Vet and zealot nerf. Maximum number only reached 9k, then quickly fell down.
September to December, 2024. New weapons, psyker and ogryn trees rework. The average online numbers maintained at 10k+.
June, 2025. Arbites came out.
September, 2025. tree reworks but some got nerfed. The average number maintained at 7k until now.
Letās see how it goes after this versionās nerf.
Cool post but they are buffing like 6 weapons and all classes in this patch too. These chinese histrionics are grating. There are about 5 posts up right now all whinging about a completely irrelevant cooldown increase, all written in the same overly dramatic deepseek translated tone, all ignoring that multiple weps are getting fat reworks.
Iād call it a hivemind but thatās a stereotype isnāt it?
Sure not. I admire that game difficulty and player strength are out of control. But the nerf of strength should go with the game difficulty reducing. Look at what player got? Endless nerf will only cause player churn. If you want a game which are what called ābalanceā but have few players, go nerf everything.
Sure not. A vet who use the buffed weapons with 40s cooldown VOC must be weaker than 30s but no buff. Most of players will not want to use the other two abilities in high difficulty games.
ok, for starters, how about the fact that for 99% of players there is absolutely NOTHING to do because of the lack of new content? We havenāt had a new regular map since Dark Communion. After that, an entire YEAR went by with no maps, resulting in No Manās Land. An entire YEAR with nothing new to do for casual players. Nobody cares about mortis trials after a few rounds of trying it / getting the penance.
New class/quarterly big updates always provides a temporary boost (apparently, the intended effect, according to Fatshark: link) and then people quickly realize that the game is still the exact same under the surface. Tons of annoying bugs, sound not working, balance issues (using the same old nonsense meta weapons gets boring FAST) and endgame stuff being simply irrelevant for a vast majority of people.
The rest of us āhardcoreā players stick around because the gameplay loop is satisfying. We will stay around for as long as the game remains interesting and challenging.
