Akfiz's Compillation of Vermintide 2 Suggestions

Hello, you may know me from Steam as also Akfiz. I have 180 hours in Vermintide 2 and beat every level on Legend, full gear, and finally found a place where I can actually place suggestions for Vermintide 2.

Prepare for a word vomit, there are years of suggestions accumulated.

I. The Hub:

The hub is a great place to hang out with your friends, and possibly other people:

1. More potions and bombs in the armory:

Since the ones you already have outside don’t respawn, and sometimes you want to try different potions with different builds.

2. The Global Chat Bar

This lovely semi-outside room could be turn into an improvised bar to remind us of Vermintide 1 and for pratical reasons could be turned into a global chat room. As you walk into this room, you will be able to access the global chat, which is a chat with all the players in Vermintide 2 who are also in this room in their own hubs. Warhammer 40:000 Dawn of War 2 Retribution had this feature and it was great, except it was on the main menu not a hub in-game, but it basically allowed players to talk to each other without being in the same game, you could ask questions real-time like “what is the best class?”, “what build should I use?”, “do you want to play an online game?”, “can I visit you?”.

Vermintide 2 has a great community and I don’t know why this doesn’t exist yet. Every person in this game is amazing. With tons of helpful and fun people. To be able to talk to each other just by being in the same game at the same time (rather than match) would be amazing.

Also, it would be funny that Saltzpyre lives right under the bar where he can take people and… have a nice chat with them. And Bardin lives right over the bar, perhaps he is the provider of drinks, I doubt that bathtub in his quarters is a bathtub.

Would be cool if it would also have a lot of breakable items just like the first game, I miss breaking that many things in such a short time between missions.

3. The Challenge to Duel Book

It would be great if you could 1v1 your friends (Vermintide 1 had this feature on events), what if this book inside this room can be interacted, the first player to sign it challenges someone to a duel. The 2nd player to sign it, accepts the duel. Then they can fight each other 1v1 on the map, practice fight.

Full loadout. The one who loses is downed and gets back up. You can use the whole hub as the map, go anywhere you want to fight, but you will always see your opponent through the wall in red.

It would be a fun thing to do between friends.

4. The Door to Versus

This could be the door towards versus mode, in the same way we have a door towards Chaos Wastes.

5. More Secrets in the Base

I love the secrets you put in your games. Problem is I would like you to surprise us as such suggesting a secret and you adding that secret wouldn’t make it a secret anymore by default.

There is sometimes a hymn in the hub at night, perhaps something could be done about it? perhaps something already is? who knows? and that tower? that tower with no bridge that only Sienna can go to, what’s its secret?

II. Cosmetics

1. A White Hat to the Ironbreaker

The Ironbreaker has nothing that looks good with his purified armor. Galar Konk from Vermintide 1 would be a great white helmet.

In fact, you don’t have anything that fits well with his Green and Blue armors either, some Greed and Blue helmets should exist as well. The closest thing you have is the Gold Helm (the one with feathers left of me) but I don’t like how it looks.

2. A bossfight icon for the Enchanter’s Lair level.

The main story’s missions have boss fight icon when you reach a level where you have to fight a boss. It would be cool if the Enchanter’s Lair had the same, it doesn’t change the game with anything, it’s just for my OCD.

III. Versus

1. Add Playable Plague Monks and Stormvermin
image
As far as I can tell, bosses will be added. But in the open alpha range builds were OP and I don’t think adding bosses are going to solve that. I believe Plague Monks and Stormvermin should be added as well to be a constant melee threat too.

I understand this is a whole new level of complexity, if Stormvermin is too much at least just Plague Monks.

2. Please no grind for Versus’ Skavens.
image
I would love to have a talent tree for Skavens exactly like we have for the Heroes. But hate the fact that you have to reach level 35 to play at maximum efficiency otherwise you are at a disadvantage compared to other players.

I can understand the appeal for this in singleplayer/co-op modes, but for multiplayer having to level up so that you can stand on equal ground against other players is simply no fun.

Progress here would be discouraging rather than encouraging, with players deciding not to play simply because other players have an unfair advantage over them. And to get over that unfair advantage they need to suffer playing until they get that level with the Skaven. Having skins for Skavens would be cool though.

IV. Adventure DLCs

1.

She’s not dead is she? we didn’t see the body.

2. How did Saltzpyre became a Warrior Priest and Kruber a Grail Knight?

3. Back to Ubersreik 2.0 with the other iconic maps

  • The Wizards Tower → No Vermintide game is complete without the Wizards Tower.
  • The White Rat → The boss fights in 2 are much better, but this was a cool map.
  • The Fall (Schluesselschloss) → Another survival map, the other one from the first game.
  • Trial of the Foolhardy → The best mission I ever played in a Vermintide game. And I played a lot of great missions.
  • Waylaid → The actual ending and a great map.
  • River Reik → The boat scene at the end of the 2nd mission in the Death on the Reik DLC was amazing. If Death on the Reik and Stromdorf will never be added, at least this mission should be added.

4. A Mordheim-themed DLC with a small suggestion.

This could be the “horror DLC” of the game, with always night, scary scenes, maybe jumpscares, traps and such.

Possibly: fighting vampires.

I know the timeline doesn’t add up but if going back to Ubersreik was possible going back to Mordheim should be possible as well.

And a small request (if CA allows you): A lot of Warhammer’s fantasy is inspired from real world folklore and real life locations. It’s no secret that The Empire are Germans, Bretonnia are a mix of French and Arthurian legends and Sylvania is Transylvania from Romania.

In the early editions of Mordheim I think (this is what I heard online) the vampires who weren’t split into Vampire Counts, Vampire Coast or Tomb Kings had Romanian names in theme with the rest of the lore. This was the case in the game Mordheim: City of the Damned where the vampires had names such as:

Male: Silviu, Alexandru, Emilian, Iulian, Anton, Claudiu, Filip, Marcu.
Female: Elisabeta.

Or full names such as male: Teodor Lupei, Lucian Negrescu, Valentin Albu, Ovidiu Vladimirescu and my favourite Valeriu Surdul (Valeriu the Deaf One).
Female: Andreea Ionescu.

There is Strigoi which comes from the Romanian folklore, but not only Strigoi and monstrous units had Romanian names in Mordheim, even regular vampires.

It would be cool if at least a few of these names would make it into a Mordheim-themed or Horror-themed DLC.

Pretty good suggestions. I have 2500 hours in V2 and I agree with everything here. These things would make the game better.-)

They’ve gone away from paid maps, and VT1 maps have to be remade completely, so if it’s a return or a whole new map, i’d pick a new one.

Game engine is too limited to introduce new factions iirc

And RtU work cause we’re using the memories of the U5

Why would CA matter here ?

Thanks for the support guys, really glad to see the suggestions I thought of aren’t a complete mess!

@Heretical_Cactus That’s a good one. If I have to pick, what would I pick? … I don’t know personally, seeing what Sofia does next or how Saltzpyre became a Warrior Priest or Kruber a Grail Knight would be very interesting to me. At the same time, those maps from Vermintide 1 are great maps and even if I’ve already played them it’s a great thing to play them again in Vermintide 2 with “more toys”. Although, I suppose one argument would be that it’s easier to make a map that you already have a design for from a previous game than to make a new map from ground-up.

As for being gone away with paid maps, I don’t know why they did that. Maybe they get more money from skins? fine by me. As long as it’s not pay to win or XP boost, they could lock every skin behind a paywall for all I care. But if the next map DLCs cost money I’d buy them. I only wish that Versus isn’t paid DLC since that will mean a lower playerbase.

The engine being too limited to introduce a new faction is unfortunate. Can the engine at least resist reskining the already existing Skaven, Chaos and Beastmen units to look like Vampires? It would be more climactic to have Vampires in a Mordheim-themed or even general horror-themed dlc. The only thing that could be unique is a final boss like the 1st boss from Helmgart or the one from the Castle Drachenfels DLC. I feel like they really had something there but didn’t explore it too much.

The if CA allows you is because I know that for some books CA needed to give their approval, I took a guess that maybe this could be the case for video games as well, it’s a guess, might be wrong.
