After the Update DT is a different game

The update makes this feel like a completely different game. I just walked through Auric Damnation HISTG. I spent the whole game standing in a bubble firing my voidstrike staff. I didn’t really have to do anything. The other psyker made us invulnerable to ranged weapons with the bubble and nothing else was really able to get close and deal damage. So I mostly just stood in a bubble and right clicked for thirty minutes. It was very boring and very sad. I didn’t brain burst anything because BB takes longer to charge than the void staff but only does ~33% of the damage. I haven’t tried the assail knives but they seem very powerful. I didn’t really try using melee because I couldn’t have block with peril and psykinetic’s wrath at the same time.

It feels like a completely different game. There was no real challenge and no need to use any of the skills I’ve developed over 500 hours of gameplay. I know FS had to do something to try to make money. I’m just sorry it came to this. I did have a lot of fun. Five hundred hours. Really good times. No regrets. Good luck, FS. Maybe things will change with future updates but I’m going to take a break now.

Yeah it sucks to be on the lower end of the use scale and then get massively buffed for no reason to the point of making the game comical. As a huge Ogryn enthusiast suffering through his descent into brainless mashing I feel the pain of psykers who actually put work into controlling enemies before. Now they massacre them with no effort.

Psyker bubbles and knives are just overtuned right now. Lighting bugged with no peril gain too. Fix the bugs and add some actual cooldown to those abilities and its fine, but the class can practically solo missions as it stands currently.
Play some other classes and have some psykerless missions and it’s considerable fun.

Thank you for your sympathy. I was really good at using my staff to horde clear, using BB to take down key enemies or wear down elites, use melee to clear trashor wield massive single target damage, all while managing peril and warp charges and buying breathing room with psykinetic’s wrath. It was complicated, difficult, and pulling it off felt amazing because I felt like I was earning it. That feeling is largely gone, now. : (

Right now it looks like some psyker builds (that, to be fair, needed buffs) got buffed too far, and other classes with overtuned builds got nerfed too far.

I think there will be some coming weeks of adjustments to bring different builds more in line with each other. I feel like two thirds of the games I play have 2 or 3 psykers, and I rarely seen any vets.

The hate on powersword is getting too far. Problem is, canonically, a powerweapon just so massively outshines other non-power weapons, it kinda doesn’t make sense to have a powersword in the mix if it’s not going to perform like one. Which means they should probably just remove it altogether if they’re not going to allow it to be canonically strong. Power weapons are supposed to make other melee weapons obsolete.

Alternatively they can add more power weapons to compete with it, with different advantages and disadvantages. Power axe, power maul, power fist, etc.

You can still do this, you don’t have to take the Voidstrike.

One of my main issues with the Psyker was that you needed to put in more effort for the same performance as all other classes. This is potentially a step in the right direction, though overtuned.
Either the psyker should be able to perform their role with ease, or better yet, it should have a higher skill ceiling with more potential to change the tide of battle.
I’m hopeful for now.
