I’ve been playing Darktide since the games launch, and so far i am overjoyed with the most recent update. Because of the games almost revitalization i’ve started gotten more and mlre of my friends ro join me in the riiteous slaughter of heretics; Although, being a 40K nerd this has started more conversations about weapons and enemy variety which would add to replayability. What are thoughts on adding weapons like the:
stub gun (i.e. 1911)
Heavy stubber for classes other than Ogryn (i.e. Bren)
Plasma pistol
Long las for veteran (lasgun sniper rifle)
Hell maybe even giving us the option of a flamer like guardsmen carry
As for enemies, some people may belive gene stealers are over done but maybe fighting gene-stealer cultists?
Hell even fighting other forces of the ruinous powers, like kornite cultists or slaaneshi worshipers?
also more hive locations, or different routes. Nurgle is nothing to scoff at but imagine if you go into an area that has Khornite cultists and Nurglites and random encounters could be you walk into an area as they start fighting one another
I’d personally love to use the Hotshot Lasgun (the one that the Scab Gunners use) and mix it with Executioner’s Stance and either a Krak or Shredder Frag for a Loyalist Moebian Gunner build. I’ll probably carry a Mk III Power Sword around for if and when my mag is empty and I need to keep purging. Ogryns get to have the Loyalist Reaper Experience, let us Vets have our Loyalist Gunner experience. I’d probably apply the same to Zealots with a regular Stubber in place of a Hotshot Lasgun, to give them their own Loyalist version of the Dreg Gunner. Zealots could definitely have a lot of fun experimenting with builds relating to a Stubber, and it doesn’t limit them to the close-range combat provided by the Flamer.
Yup all the Skullplitter Hammer line as Thunderhammer (1h, Twinned, with Shield). 1 variant that is just the same moveset, then after Ward the 2 other variants to make them have different aspects.
Plenty of weapons from Vt2 should reappear:
Beam staff: Rework for beam to be the Charged, take the Purgatus light attack
Bolt Staff: Remodeled to be electric based
Fire Sword: Remodeled to be electric based (Biomancy)
For enemies atm we should see more units to the Dreg and the Scab, like a Dreg Lord and elites, and a Scab Monster.
The last 3 Vox may be also teasing toward new enemies, Plaguebearers, a Cultist/Preacher and something that lurk.
Loot goblins luring greedy people to their death and the eventual teamwipe is the most hilarious thing.
Also code the Dreg Looter to home in on any eventual Daemonhosts that spawned.
I foresee many great “Best of” moments playing on screen.
It still feels weird that wielding a pistol and melee weapon together, one of the more recognisable visual flourishes of the Warhammer 40k franchise, isn’t in this game at all.
Cause it’s a more complex weapon kit, and it, like Twinned weapons would generate more attention than having them at base then introducing the single variants.
They are bound to happen at some point, as they are in a way easier to do than making outright new weapon type
