Pretty simple your sprint then slide under the gunfire when you see the flashing muzzles.
It’s a pretty great system.
When your in the thick of it you are normally swinging and if you try and slide up to the guy who’s shooting at you from just out of melee range you need to sprint for half a second then slide.
You have time to react but don’t really have it since if you sprint and crouch at the same instance you just couch then eat a barrage of shots and on heresy or damnation you basically lose all toughness or die.
It would definitely make you feel like your ability to react and dodge keeps you alive more than right now when seeing a muzzle flash at close range means your probably gonna lose all toughness.
Really when your that close to melee they should have pulled melee out and you really have no choice than get shot since you can’t dodge them and it just feels bad like the games bugged.
I just played a game and did some more testing and it does work but it feels more like a lag problem as well.
You can when you got no lag easily sprint and slide with no issues except maybe having like 0 momentum.
When actual fighting happens and you combine swinging weapons into it you end up having to fully finish your swing to then slide and if you don’t you just squat down and get shot.
It’s even worse when I was lagging for a few minutes you can’t slide at all unless you sprint for a half second that’s way to long.
Dodge is definitely more responsive and letting us slide around even while swinging will definitely make combat more fluid.
