A seperate store/slot for class specific items, specifically psyker

right now certain weapons are much, much harder to roll than others and in particular psykers are very largely disadvantaged by this. to describe simply why this happens imagine two players, one trying to chase tactical axes (taxes) and one trying to chase force swords.

imagine a time interval, we’ll say T, which is how long it takes to get any given item. if you are a psyker chasing a force sword, you would expect to see one force sword blessing for every three taxe blessings, since they have three marks. so for T you’d see FS, TA, TA, TA. but every hour you play on vet or preach you also see TA TA TA but see no FS. and worse still, TA has only 6 blessings while FS has 12. subjectively i also evaluate taxe blessings as much better, with about a 4/6 odds of getting a decent one, force sword is nothing like this.

it really doesn’t take too long for the player to see waaaaaay more TA blessings and get all the blessings they want than FS ones, before any kind of hypothetical weighing or anything else influences this. weapons which 1) are class unique and 2) have no additional marks to share a pool with are HUGELY disadvantaged by the current and pre-patch systems. in particular psyker who is saddled with 21 different weapons, many of which are non-warp weapons (guns axes swords etc, cross class stuff) and has several class specific and iconic staffs that do not share any kind of blessings pool.

these items are as such MUCH harder to roll than anything else. to address this i suggest you make the following minor changes to both the stores:

  1. psykers should see a slightly larger number of items than the other classes and

  2. all of these bonus items should be class specific.

this still leaves the psyker slightly disadvantaged, but implementing these steps would go a far way to normalizing the grind between different classes. you could also extend to other classes but imo the most urgent one right now is psyker. if you added, say, just two slots to the store and one slot to milks that always rolled warp items i bet the grind would be a lot less frustrating. and while you could turn up the frequency of these items instead to try and solve it on the backend imo a proper visible and transparently guaranteed slot would go farther to make the perception of the system fairer.

Made a post about it but class specific weapons should probably be another tab in the shops. Especially if we get more classes with more class locked gear.

Additionally yeah, weapons should have the same blessing amounts. Either more marks, or more blessings combined or base functionality of a weapon has the blessing and the blessing removed from the pool.

Yeah agree on this. This is really a huge problem with Malk’s especially since some days i could have sworn that im looking at a store belonging to a Vet or Zealot minus their specifics stuff.

Sure there is a dueling sword in there but that is like 1 class specific item out of 4 displayed and this store has a 24 hour roll over.

This is especially bad with how they handled staff blessings with each staff having blessing locked to that staff and that staff only so even if you do get a staff in store it might be just the wrong one.

Wait wait wait wait wait.

My psyker is only level 10 right now. But you’re telling me, that unlike all the other weapon variations, the staffs don’t share from the same unlocked blessing pool? On top of being so hard to get for Psyker?

…why?

Yeah. This also gets even more confusing when you realize the Surge and the Purge staff share the same blessings. Basically if you get a T4 blessing on the wrong staff then uhhh, sorry.

if two items do not share an identical blessing pool, ie the exact same blessings, they will never share blessings. this is a simpler way of looking at it than families or marks imo - you’ll never ever be able to transfer between staffs since some of the staff blessings are exclusive to one or the other.

surge and purge is even dumber lol i never knew that. they really should be able to share blessings, unless the intent is for them to eventually have their own. who knows.

Yeah it’s 1:1 currently.

Even then the void strike and trauma are also basically identical but the trauma gets a +brittleness on blast which could easily go on the void strike. It’s extremely silly.
