there is, is just that the devs didn’t think about it/are lazy to make things work properly
barking no sense
Also, Alt + F4—that’s the only way to get back into the game when yet another grabbing mob has thrown you through the textures.
not really, you can use the reconnect mod to rejoin if that happens.
but the reconnect mod itself is also kinda unfair cause it allows people to exploit the game more by rejoining and if getting disabled / ledged you can rejoin for then being fine
if you leave normally, the reserve slot is not there and therefore new people can join
if you leave abruptly, the reserve slot is there for you for X mins because the game thinks you disconnected due to connectivity issues/crashed. problem is that ALT+F4 counts as those things.
so it’s simply fixable by doing an if statement coding wise, and doing a check if a player does exit the game by pressing alt+f4, like IT IS possible, what you mean by there is no way for the server to know. ![]()
if (player.ExitMethod=="Alt+F4") then
Server.ReleaseReserveSlot(player.ID)
Matchmaker.AllowBackfill(True)
else
Server.InitiateGracePeriod(player.ID,duration: 120)
end if
simple basic statement as an example
and ALT+F4 right now counts as crash / disconnection, and no wonder people experiencing that, because the reserve slot stays there for minutes, when simply it shouldn’t be granted for ragequitters…
it’s not broken, it’s how those respawn trigger points work, if a player advances those points, the teammates get teleported to the next point
but i do agree that some are actually badly positioned and that is dev’s fault, where if someone just go slightly ahead just to kite enemies, then all hogtied players get teleported to the next respawn point. some needs to be sligthly tweaked to be more forgiving.
CHEATER!
/jk
lol
but yea to me reconnect mod it allows people abuse certain exploits
that fatshark seemingly tried to fix, but in the end things still happening
if someone gets pounced by a dog or netted by a trapper, if people reconnect, they magically reappear not disabled anymore. and then another exploit related to it, that actually going report to fatshark lev later cause it’s basically being invincible
that’s the only cheating behavior of the mod, but if used just to reconnect just to swap build or they get stuck due to bosses or anything, then more than fair
Oh no, things definitely aren’t working as they should. Sometimes players get teleported to the respawn point after an event, even though the event hasn’t even started yet.
Plus, the placement of respawn points is inconsistent and varies from map to map.
The Magistrate’s Dungeon and the first respawn point—literally just a meter away from the first encounter with an enemy—send their regards.
Yeah, the respawn points in particular are very poorly spaced.
There are a lot of exploits within the game itself, really. Places where AI can’t path springs to mind. Flame Staff is another (okay, not an exploit, but game-breaking garbage). It’s always up to the individual if they play to have fun or if they play just to win. After you’ve got pretty much everything, the only point in playing is to have fun - I see cheating or exploiting as some phase that some people go through and then grow out of.
And some other people are stuck in a phase of demanding everyone else play how THEY want. XD The idea of someone else having fun not in a way they proscribe just won’t leave their mind and bothers them deeply. I think Nintendo is filled with these people.
I know a guy who dislikes any mod in any game because he feels strongly that you should play the game as the devs intended. Which is fine, for him. ![]()
I noticed that the respawns were inconsistent between maps too. The graphics are also highly inconsistent between maps sometimes its snowing and sometimes theres sand, its messed up
this is some rare thing in consigment yard but i know what you mean, some players spawning after a mid event, so that then you are forced to do a mid event without a player cause you can’t reach them.
some are badly done yea, and the gap is not very forgiving so if you go slightly ahead, they just tp to the next one.
the only way to make people respawn in the first one in oubliette is staying inside the first tunnel drop, which is rewarded if people go back there making people respawn them there
There is no need to punish anyone. Here is my solution.
First, keep track of the frequency at which a player JOINS a mission.
Second, bias random party selection so that frequent joiners play together.
The problem solves itself.
Let’s hope you’re not as stupid as you’re trying to make yourself out to be.
Very few players understand the mechanic of moving back to change their respawn point to a closer one. Even on H40.
Even fewer players know exactly how far back they need to move. After all, in some places, you not only have to move back, but also climb onto a barrel.
Should probably suggest ways to keep / encourage people to stay in the game rather than suggesting punishments them for leaving.
Please be nice to me I’m new
I think it does matter. If the player who quits before respawning has this happen while waiting they will double down and leave even more in the future.
It’s never too late for a respawn rework/adjustment.
My only suggestion as a solution would be the elevator or door “checkpoints” would revive the whole team. Everyone is waiting, you got to a checkpoint, just revive the whole team.
Mhm that would be quite the buff to us rejects. That means that if you are the last man/woman standing you just rush to one of those checkpoints, and then you can deal with all the heretics following you through doors with the full team. I’m not sure the game needs to be made easier like that.
I’m all for rewarding instead of punishing, but I would really not know something that makes it worthwhile for quitters.
Would be an idea to develop, punishment would only hurt player retention extra bonuses for staying through match even to a loss, clutching, ect… would be beneficial.
Losses getting dramatically less experience / gains and is a good reason to drop match for time if things don’t look like they will succeed.
