The weapon pack that was originally promised for release in 2025 was later postponed to 2026. Now that almost two months of 2026 have already passed, are there any updates regarding its development?
I’m not even asking for a soon release - but considering it was initially promised back in 2025, could we at least get some news about its current status? This topic is being brought up by players on the game’s Discord server almost every day now.
I genuinely appreciate the amount of content you delivered throughout 2025, but please try to understand the players as well. If it wasn’t already promised to us, there would not be such question. This pack was announced last year, and considering that previous packs typically contained only five weapons (one per character), which isn’t exactly a large amount of content, it’s hard not to worry about how much longer we’ll have to wait for it.

Saltzpyre: Very varied, could pick things from the Zealots (2h Flails/Comet Flails), or from outside of the Empire (Streltsi’s Gunaxe, or Cathayan weapons), or even some Engineering weapons (Alchemical bullets)
Sienna: Pretty much anything they can make out from the lore of Magic, will probably be a ranged weapon tbh.
One of the most characteristic Dark Elf weapons is a Draich, the real one, not just Kerillian greatsword skins that have “draich” in its name.
People on Discord basically proposed Draich that would work similar to Bretonnian Longsword (one of the best movesets in game) but would also somehow benefit from Shade’s abilities.
I mean that’s kind of their job to do a better job balancing their broken game.
Having new meaningful content and balancing aren’t mutually exclusive. One department doesnt sit on their ass all day just because another is incompetent.
My fear is more about where we are in the game`s lifecycle, i fear that if they release it, they wont be able to spend much time to balance it after the release (if the balancing is bad at release). It took major efforts and a long time to balance out those things after the releases. And looking at the lifecycle we are pretty much at the end, where ressources are already shifted. It can be very likely that they wont able to provide us with a well rounded experience and just leave it “good-enough”.
The game is already becoming stale. I think that’s natural after a few thousand hours, but because so much of the gameplay revolves around making builds and using weapons on different careers, it’s a source of hundreds of hours of enjoyment and mastery in each weapon. It could massively extend interest and replayability.
Darktide includes variants of weapons that with different movesets, stats, special attacks, and it creates a much greater level of replayability and room for experimentation. Just having variants of exisitng weapons could be so much fun. A Sabre and Pistol variant of the Rapier and Pistol, slower and higher damage, more for crowds than single-target. A Greatsword with more single-target thrusts, etc.
Everytime they release something new, they have to do at least a few balance passes even if it takes about a year to do so.
What I’d like to see before the game goes in sunset:
New Weapon Pack
New Enemy Types
New Levels / Content for the Chaos Wastes
Versus fixes to ensure fair play
Cleanup of dead Talents and Weapon Traits
Balance passes to address remaining concerns
Rotating Weave seasons with rewards beyond Frames
Unique uses for crafting components, shillings, etc.
sure, i just say there are also less time consuming things which fatshark could do. And that a new weapon pack brings those risks that they only will balance it to “good enough”. Less effort would be making deeds craftable and put some modifiers of events, weaves and chaos wave on it and maybe some new ones. This would give the game new challenges a lot of variety and doesnt take months work with maybe mediocre outcome for the devs and us players.
They do pretty much the same thing in Darktide though. I don’t follow every Darktide update in real time, but the game clearly gets more weapons over time. Both unique ones and variants of existing ones, as people above proposed. If melee options in Darktide once felt pretty bland, at this point, it even has some weapons Vermintide could learn from.
I can’t provide exact statistics, since I only play Darktide in phases, but it feels like they’ve added more new weapons over its live cycle than Vermintide did in a comparable period of time.
