In response to earlier news that weapons DLC isn't coming "this year"...that was sent in February. So expect nothing else this year?

Asides from the third map and a bunch if irrelevant MP related updates.

Not even somethings like talent reworks, or something?

There have been some mentions of maybe some balance changes (it was in the discussion below the thread announcing the anniversary event and the postponing of the weapon DLC). It was very abstract however, like they’re not sure what the scope of it is going to be. Might be tiny, might be big. Either the community manager posting it didn’t have exact info, or the dev team isn’t even sure how much they’ll have time for (which would mean it’s pretty far in the future).

The team size is largest for DT, followed by VT2, and then the unannounced project.

this is just my speculation, but I believe the unannounced project has officially started development, and a significant portion of the teams from both VT2 and DT have been reassigned to it. As a result, the resources available for VT2’s development have become quite limited, which likely caused the weapon DLC that was scheduled for release this year to be delayed.

Fatshark’s main source of revenue at the moment is probably DT’s cosmetics, so they will likely continue updating the game at the current pace to retain existing players while also attracting new ones. In fact, they mentioned that there would be four major updates this year.

As for the Versus mode, I suspect it wasn’t very successful. VT2 has been out for quite some time now, and even with the announcement of a new game mode, it doesn’t seem to have exceeded expectations in terms of acquiring and retaining players.
