14k Aquilas vs. Mashup Cosmetics

so you’re telling me their business representative went to a colab meeting with microsoft and they handled the details, he then went back told his guys in FS leadership what a sweet deal he made and they totally failed to see any shitstorm coming, wich is reasonable considering how silent the community was all year round.
yeah still totally FS fault for being this blind, its the most natural response after that awful release and sh*t they pulled…

We probably stepped on each other’s toe because we both somewhat generalized.

Personally, I don’t support straight up hate speech and malicious comments against FS team on a personal level. Especially against DEVs because (1) I’m a Dev and (2) I know most -bad- decisions are made by the Producers (the people who pay for the game) because their job is to maximize profit, not to ship the greatest product possible.

That said, I do understand FS made a special deal with MS to have part or all of the aquilas subsidized by MS. I was one of the first people to state that and even made a video about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG8vaKws9WM
However, I still feel “Vanguard pack” is VERY controversial (1) because its production cost approximately 2-week salary of 2-3 people (one sprint for those who work in tech companies) and (2) because they are trying to hit 2 birds with one stone by advertising that whoever buys the game for PC till 17-November will get this pack too (in other words, it ended up less of a reward for the OG people and more of a promotional offer)

Now back to what is “accepted” and what is not when addressing opinions.
You might be shocked but I do think it’s OK for people to be upset and show it here on the official forums. I also think it’s ok to criticize the company who created your “favorite game” because in the big scale of things it somewhat keeps them in check and evens out any possible ideas of exploiting the player base.
To put it simply, next time they will think twice when making similar decisions and if that happens then criticism WORKED

just my 2c

I would have preferd the 14k aquilas. The stuff we are getting is nice looking but it is a bunch of reskins and recolors of other stuff and the veteran stuff should have been avalible since long ago as unlockable skins

Because people can earn the bundle until the 17.11.23. It only makes the Dunce helmet valid as an actual suffering early adopter. Ah if only the amount of credit we got was enough to buy a top tier set. But FS wanted those preorder goblins to pay for a few more aquilas to buy a costume they saved their aquilas for.

Cobbling something together like Frankenstein’s monster is scarcely a suitable compensation. Who cares what sweeteners Xbox got. It is the principle we beta testers pre-order people got shat on yet again. Whilst console gets the game as we should have received at launch… they did it with V1 V2.

They’ve always been accomplished at speaking with forked tongue! Selling the illusion. Management are still dire. Game engine still poor, servers poor, every update breaks more than it fixes, just keeping us in our place under their boot heels. When they quipped were putting everything we learned from V1 V2 into Darktide that worked. As one expected the company to grow. However, as we see that was not the case just more corpo bs.

Personally will always appreciate the designers, artists et al for crafting the Tide universes. But as for management, they will always be utter cads of the lowest order. Don’t foresee that changing for me. Ever.

Principles we live and die by them.

You know what FS did with their half assed move? They lost me as a customer for their next projects, if there are any. I will stick to Darktide since i have paid for it already but there’s not a single coin going into their mtx store nor will i buy any future products they might come up with.

Yes, it’s only a small impact losing one customer but the market for games is ENORMOUS and I

'd rather spend my money somewhere else. I do get incentives to get new customers into your game but the way they treated the people that played from day one is just god awful.
