Okay Fatshark, you have a little momentum and goodwill, don't screw it up

And by screwing it up I mean releasing another 2900 Aquila cosmetics set. We’ve seen the datamined enforcer skins. We know what that means. Do not sabotage your players being happy with stuff happening by dumping another set of incredibly overpriced skins onto the market.

Oh who am I kidding that’s exactly what you’re going to do.

See y’all thursday.

Absolutely - the shock mauls want corresponding bling bling

But I‘ve to say that I don’t care too much. I bought my krieg vet outfit and earlier my steel legion outfit. so I can roleplay my favourite minis. Given their horrific pricing my entire willingness to spend money on their MTX is gone.

Funny thing: if the pricing was more reasonable I‘d probably have spent way more money in total… :man_shrugging:t3:

If there was reasonable pricing and a catalogue I’d probably have dumped a couple hundred bucks on this game by now, ngl. $10 a month isn’t a lot for me and it adds up, plus the drip is usually pretty cool in isolation (aka, it would be awesome but they keep selling recolors and being greedy).

Well the extra effort argument is kaput since dead Enforcers across the various maps already have these skins, just without the pouches/purity seals/candles. I was really hoping for another tier of penance cosmetics with these. I guess they did have to make one for Ogryn, though. Watch them charge for a water cartel set now that they have models in the latest trailer, lol.

But you already know connected theme + forgeworld set and not some stupid larp at best mentioning Cadia = that will be 500 Aquillas more for the effort thank you.

that’s everybody in this situation.
They just loose money with these outrageous prices and also, they only spread frustration to their customers. A bad move… but who could be surprised of that?

cough cough
Someone add Fatshark logo over Gimli and “Darktide playerbase” over Legolas. I’m too lazy.

Guess what. I was right! It’s Thursday and they want you to pay 2900 per Enforcer skin! Also enjoy paying for weapon skins that were once bundled with these sets at like 800 a piece!

Did u see new cosmetics?
BACKPACK ON ITS PLACE

They’ve essentially raised the price from:

2400 - Full cosmetic set + weapon skin bundle
to
3600 (2900 + 700) for the same thing.

That is a juicy 50% markup going from roughly 10 bucks for a set to 15.

This is A level jank coupled with AAA pricing. I guess if the big bois like Blizz can ask 65 bucks for a mount skin in D4, poor old sweet Fatshark surely can ask 15 bucks for a full set, right? It’s like buying them a coffee for a job well done after all!

Not 3600.

Remember. The OG bundles came with BOTH skins. And a trinket that’s now like 400.

The price is now ~5000 for the same stuff. A 200% markup.

It’s a damn shame because I’m a sucker for clean armor sets. Pity I won’t be buying this one out of spite.

Oh right, I forgot. Didn’t they also have a trinket as well?

I get it Fatshark, you pay €10 for a beer or a sandwitch in Denmark and Norway, so I suspect its similar in Sweden, but this isn’t a micro-transaction anymore. I feel bad for people who just throw a lot of money at these digital “goods”, because of compulsions.

There’s a few neat cosplays I’d love for my digital gals: Enforcer (to go with the Dark Heresy Arbitrator character I enjoyed so much) and a really nice Tallarn Veteran outfit. I mean sure every girl wants an SoB parallel (or a Tyranid proxy, in my experience), but I digress.

At the prices that the current stuff is at, I’m not buying any of it. Doubly so given how they screwed every beta PC player with the XBOX free Aquilla debacle. I’m still karking salty about that, but a generous stipend for the PC purchasers, or a serious discount in price is what it’ll take for me to look at all at their store.

That said, if the prices were really slashed, I’d probably pick up $30 of digital dress-up on a whim some random evening. Just the way of pricing. And they’ve priced my will to pay out of their store.

You know, I don’t think I’ll be buying it. As much as I like how it looks, I’m:

A. Out of loadout slots and my cosmetics are pretty set in stone.
B. They’re too expensive, and if I bought them only to end up not using them I’d feel like a chump.

I can’t speak for my fellow sharks, but for these reasons I’m out.

Golden meme. Post it on the reddit aswell with the price comparison you did.

Yeah this is the basic psychology of how to get gamblers hooked and the whole thing that FS try and tap into… Yet they get too greedy with prices. It’s even the same with price of hadron updates using materials etc. It’s all soooo overpriced.

Slot machines are dirt cheap to play… So it makes people play on them more. Before long they’ve spent way more than if it was more expensive per spin.

Fs don’t seem to comprehend what a false economy is.

I don’t really use reddit, but feel free to share it all further if you think its going to bring people some joy or spark an interesting discussion.

okey. thanks

At the end of the day, we are all culprits every time we buy a cosmetic from them.

I did it by the past. must say that there are several cosmetics I would have loved to acquire, but I won’t.
As I said a long time ago, I won’t buy any new cosmetic till:

  • they lower prices to what would be micro transactions
  • they introduce a true cosmetic system where we can recolor or apply patterns to cosmetics we buy (and if they can allow us to add or remove accessories on them it would even be better)

I say it, I don’t refuse to pay. I even think that it is normal that they want our money. It is a company, they are here to get money. No problem on this.
But… come on… what are these prices? I don’t play a phone game.
I know the economic model of such games where you burn your credit card. We are not in such games (and i guess that this public is not the same as a video game).
So, it won’t work here. We want something at the right price and with the right value.
As I said several times, what they ask is not worth the items they sell.

As soon as I saw how they butchered the Imperial Guard sanctioned psyker outfit, I refused to buy anything else because it opened my eyes to how jank everything recognisable or based on existing models look. I hadn’t bought anything before that outfit was out either.
