[Encryption active] It seems the so-called “Twins” have become a priority target. Any of the senior traitors are scalps we need to take, but these two…

The Karnak twins. Brother and sister. Tertium born. They need a better name, I think. In briefings, we talk of ‘The Twins this…” and “The Twins that…” almost as though they are acquaintances. The term seems too fond, too affectionate. We should call them what they are. Butchers. Monsters. Traitors. Traitors of the worst kind.

From the intel, it is clear they are close to Wolfer, the elusive Wolfer. In fact, they are Wolfer. He trusts them, clearly, so deeply, that they have become his direct proxies, acting in his stead, working in his place, performing his crimes for him. They are his primary weapons. They are extensions of him.

They are also frighteningly capable. The Twins are cunning, and brutally efficient. If I didn’t loathe them so, I could almost be impressed. They match Wolfer in capability, and exceed him in accomplishment, for he hides in the shadows while they do his work for him. I don’t have the precise figures to hand tonight, but they have, between them, killed more of our poor rejects in the last two weeks than any other positively identified traitors.

We need to stop them. We need them dead. I will not rest until this is accomplished. [Recording ended]

New bit of lore. Seems to be giving some background for a new mission. Likely the special assignment that pops up in the mission selection every so often and the Orthus Offensive that the redacted transmission and some of the new cosmetics hint at.

Though I’m sure someone will tell us that it also confirms genestealers. For the 22nd time now.

It’ll be cool if this is the Lohner’s Chronicles of this game. Maybe with other senior acolytes taking their turns giving the low down.

Why
isn’t
this
ingame

The morningstar is borderline useless with all the empty space. Just add a vox communicator or a terminal to read this stuff and tease new content or generate hype.

Would be such an easy win.

Agree. Please put this somewhere in game.

I hope to goodness they’re working on that, as its a bit frustrating that lore like this is scattered about outside of the game where, I would bet, not much of the game’s population will see it.

Could literally have scattered files, logs, and crosstalk vox consoles on the morning star.

I appreciate the little bit of extra story but literally wouldn’t have found this unless someone pointed it out

They could even make money with it:

They’re selling vox caster backpacks for MTX. Make those receive random vox audio (the ones that get released on youtube) when you’re in the Mourningstar.

That alone would increase MTX sales AND be a neat gimmick.

See, Fatshark? It is possible to do both: be a greedy MTX ahole AND give the player something cool in return.

I suppose it’s intended to drive engagement on the social platforms and forums? Still, that could be achieved by just leading the releases by a week or so and then adding them into the game.

One of those consoles on either side of the mission map is just begging for a Log Entry with all the Vox Transmissions, Vox Intercepts, and whatever else. Maybe the other one could be a ‘bestiary’ and player stat-list kind of thing.

Of course, even VT2 never had Lohner’s and Olesya’s lore drops incorporated, but they could just as easily be put in a book in some room of the keep.

That’s a lie.

Fighting Gas Grenade twin in a tight arena especially if there are other spawns is a 1 way trip to going from full health to full corruption with 1 health left.

Besides that yeah they’re funny. Boss fight with them might be fun though, I’ll wait and see

Cunningly brutal or brutally cunning. That sounds familiar…

They can’t be Orks, the Plasma twin doesn’t even 'ave a choppa!

we do hear vox crosstalk in the morningstar, and it’s clearly related to the current story if you loiter long enough but they don’t want it saved. sadly i don’t think there’s any wiki people recording all the lines.

I know we are in “Well actually” Territory but you know what i mean when i say a console that lets you access logs, cutscenes, and voice recordings at any time. Yeah sure, we get crosstalk on the Morningstar but past a certaint point it’s just background noise and you will often miss conversations when going between crafting, brunts, and other areas or because your friends in discord are discussing a pasta tier list.

It would also give a reason to actually explore it and maybe pepper logs, lore bits, and other stuff throughout the game to build an actual connection between the morning star and the rest of the game.

Another Dan Abnett reference?

Mork and Gork reference, I don’t know who originally wrote it into existence, I know it from Warhammer Fantasy Greenskins but not sure if Dan Abnet had anything to do with it
