Everything about this and the twins points to it being the equivalent of a “flash mission,” even if they said that’s what Maelstroms were supposed to be.
Just throwing ideas here, but maybe these special assignment missions will involve the character thats featured on the icon be a part of our team as a 5th member NPC.
In one of the vox transmissions on Youtube, Morrow did mention Zola being on a mission tracking Wolfer so maybe our team of rejects acompany her
Spoilers…It’s a single new mission, added in Traitor’s Curse Pt.2 but currently hidden, where you fight the twins. Zola is on comms for the mission. It’s almost definitely coming out on the 13th.

I hope it’s a fortunes of war type Event within the mission. But that unlikely I guess…

Any ideas on “activating the secret hard mode”?
Just so I understand: is this something Fatshark stealth released or is it a bug and we shouldn’t have access to it yet?
From what i can tell bug. I think their back end mission system is throwing a fit and revealing things that shouldn’t be revealed due to desync with the server. They likely have some basic skeleton of a mission in the files to make it more convenient to test on a live build where if everything is good they would just need to run a line of code but apart from that i doubt we are supposed to have access.
Warframe had a similar system for doing live event stuff but their system was a lot cleaner for it and less prone to bugging out like this.

Oh brother you have missed me bringing up the fact that this should have been an early access release at least 10 - 20 times so you are preaching to the choir.
I think overall the whole implementation is silly. They are mystery boxing something that people knew was coming anyways and then fumbled when carrying the mystery box upstairs and spilled the contents all over the floor for all to see.
