Busy with rogue trader now and wondering if i have to jump in now or can purge the heretics whenever i feel like it.
I’ve submitted an Appeal to Fatshark in an attempt to have it remain permanently, no-one except Fatshark is sure if it’s time-limited or not just yet.
Limited. Clearly, the story dictates that now that the twins are down, Wolfer is next. Or something else.
considering how strongly Fatshark follows the lore - i assume it will be reoccuring event.
Plus it wouldnt make sense to have that icon on the map to be there all the time.
Maybe they will make some storyline quest chains, And Orthus Offensive will be part of it
I suggested a new tab in the Mission Terminal for these “Special Operations” so that we can see how the story progresses without removing them from the game or taking up valuable space in the Mission Terminal.
good idea. But i’m worried that not enought people will do it.
Like ok, the regular players did Orthus Offensive and went back to Auric Damnations. But then new players come and want to do it and they will have troubles finding enough players to fill in. Especially if there will be multiple operations. Game already divided into regular missions and auric ones.
I dont see a point of doing the same Orthus Offensive for mere 200 plasteel. If for regular mission i recieve like 800 + a lot of fun.
if it will be reoccuring event with extra rewards for a limited amount of time - i will be more likely to repeat that operation every now and then between my regular auric damnations or maelstorms
I think put it up on a separate board so we can always play it but it’s more in the back ground for people to organise teams in the morningstar or discord and go get all the achievements.
The special assignments system is definitely their way of introducing more curated/nuanced events like this. I suspect the Karnak Twins will return randomly as a gameplay event or potentially just accessible on the side for closed/premade teams.
Though I suspect the insignia and whatever future rewards they’ll offer for other assignments won’t be available again, probably to reward players who have done it at their release as bragging rights.
It really doesn’t make sense that the Twins would be removed from the game forever for story reasons when we all acknowledge that we’re playing a video game, especially when it’s a live-service game. If we needed a story excuse, we can just say it’s a combat simulation.
But live-service games do a lot of stupid things that are anti-consumer, so whatever.
