Zealot PSA: Fury of the Faithful makes you immune to bullets

Discovered this on accident whilst charging directly at two gunners, but it turns out in the middle of the charge, you are immune to bullets. It won’t protect you against Trappers or Flamers, so it’s probably using the same underlying mechanic that Stripped Down does.

This solidifies its use as an active ability to close the distance on ranged enemies and put pressure on them to prevent them from shooting.

yeah and if you highlight an enemy it can propel you 21m instead of the usual 7. its dodge state. ogryn has no dodge state during his dash but he has 50% damage reduction on top of his double dipping active one. its also possible to attack enemies before the dash stops with more critical blows (but I think the attack into/out of stealth is more notable and consistent to pull off).

It makes you immune to poxbursters too, unless it was changed.

Yeah, youre also protected when charging at shooting snipers.
Nice trade off considering that shooters can also negate Fury of the Faithful entirely if you arent paying attention.
Weird that you only found out recently.

You dont have to highlight, just look at the enemy and dash.
It is also possible to dash to an enemy in the backline if the enemy frontline isnt so heavily packed.

the tag isn’t even related to this at all, but you need to have an enemy pointed out by the skill to move farther which was exceedingly obvious to those who bother to read.

Maybe they should also explicitly write in the ranged attack buff you get from it too.

they could swap the word ‘melee hit’ to ‘hit’, but it also could use that weird fake rending thing it has where flak is unarmored and carapace is flak identified. you don’t even have a UI display for when this effect is up, considering it lasts for at least a couple seconds from what I can tell.

Yeah, the ranged buff lasts the entire time you have the guaranteed melee crit.

So all in all, basic Fury of the Faithful has:

  • Dodge state against ranged except flames and nets (not sure if that continues if you cancel the movement)
  • Guaranteed melee critical hit on next melee hit within the next few seconds.
  • Enemy armour downgraded against ranged attacks for those few seconds if you don’t end it early by hitting an enemy with a melee attack.
  • Additional movement distance if ability is held down to lock onto an enemy before releasing the ultimate button.

Of which only two of the above is mentioned in its description.

Anything else?

It has uses other than closing distance on enemies?

Spamming off cooldown for toughness and AS pretty valid use with crit cooldown + crit keystone.

Yeah, I don’t know either, clocked in like 100 hours of Zealot. Just goes to show how much they forget to tell you.

It staggers enemies in an area. You can pop it in melee to stagger multiple ragers or whatever attacking you for example.

I thought this was common knowledge.
