Previously, the “Fury of the Faithful” skill penetrated the armor for 3 seconds after activating, dealing more damage, but now there is no change at all when dealing damage during the activation.

I missed this in the patch notes.
I doubt that this change was really necessary.
Moreover, even in melee, armour penetration is only the first hit. What a joke!
depend of the melee attack speed… 3 seconds is still 3 seconds
try it with a catachan or heavy sword. only the first hit
It was always just the first hit on melee.
We never wanted this nerf.
This change just punched a Kantrael sized hole in my Zealot shenanigans. Probably overdue, but they should in Veteran fashion provide some compensation buff when nerfing things we all came to assume as intended after 20 months.
Though I see why one could be annoyed, this was the intended function. Nowhere did it say it reduced 1 armour tier in ranged and it was never addressed. The simple fact is that this should have been fixed long ago and you wouldn’t have felt robed of what essentially became another mechanic. I didn’t use it much because of this, I knew it’d one day be fixed and never bothered building around it. I did use it when the bolt gun was completely busted.
P.S By building around it I mean going Braced gun zealot and grabbin the few ranged things you can to enhance it with.
While I think ranged rending is a terrible design and am good to see it go, Fatshark made it clear they were aware of it and actively balancing weapons around it back during flamer’s nerf.
