I thought new mutators will make enemies more engaging. But it brings zero effect.
Spawns were changed so it’s just an endless waves of mass now, it’s impossible to see anything, just a clusterhell of colors and effects.
But you don’t even need to. Engaging comabt doesn’t exist anymore. Constant ability and blitz spam like this is some mmo, long distance dodges that makes overheads non existant. You can catch it only if you stuck in a blob of crushers and trash mobs. You can’t fked up timing.
Everything is easy to stagger. How many mutants you need to catch 1 player? Ammo efficency? Reosurces management? Cleave on flame weapons?
I touched only 32 lvl Havoc and holy hell those two runs were a slog. You don’t fight separated unique entities anymore that asking you to react on their behaviour, counter them, you just operating cooldowns and mindless spamming attacks to chew through that mass.
It’s like an idiotic version of mmo.
Unironically SM2 combat is more engaging now.
Does the person who created Tides combat even work at Fatshark still?
Lmao its been fun so far my issue is rage quitting foos crashing the game two times in a row when I had the opportunity to clutch they leave and game ends

It explains a lot why that drastical shift happened after 13 patch. Don’t know how i missed it. So they managed to recreate V2 key combat elements then failed to keep it cause no vision or understanding why it was good and pushed towards ooga booga button mashing.
Hope he will be able to deliver his own Tide game.

At this point me and a lot of others just hope for Arrowhead to fund a tide-esque hybrid combat game with him and his team and royally style on fatshark, maybe even poach the competent guys in the process

Since that, it seems this team always buffes things leading to absurd spawning.
Spawning 15 dreg ragers is now the norm… but it is absolutely stupid.
Buffing everything to the level of a Plasma gun is not going to make this game better… and having to make the game spawn even more due to these buff is insanely STUPID.
Few weapons need buff, but there are also few that need nerf. But these weapons that need nerfs, ruin EVERYTHING. Weapon’s balance, AI director, difficulty etc.
They should have kept the old system and simply released new classes with distinct playstyles.
Way simpler to balance and easier to push distinct archetypes without punishing the other.
I’d rather have paid 10 bucks for a new class every 3 months than this horsesht.
The way it is now you have just an abortion of a skill tree that doesn’t exactly allow for much build variety either, but at least there’s terrible balance to even it ou- wait.
Yeah, i’m starting to think skill tree was a mistake (probably they just shoved planned archetypes in it cause was faster to release like that). Not so cause skill tree is a bad system, but cause they can’t handle it. They are still massively reworking it, like with ogryn, not just changing few % here and there.

Yeah they have completely destroyed havoc and I wont engage with it anymore. Now in order to play havoc you need the most elite of elite top 1% squad with mics constantly communicating to get through a run and thats just what I saw at 30 so I cant imagine how ridiculous a 40 is. I have zero desire to engage with the game mode and they bumped everyone 40 down to 30 so I refuse to play havoc anymore anyway. Good luck playing havoc with randoms cuz from what ive seen its over for that. Havoc could be fun and interesting end game but not if fatshark has a say. Its already bad enough we have to spend almost the length of a movie in every game at high havoc but now its even worse. Nobody wants to play darktide and move 3 feet every5 minutes and the elite and specialist spam is hilariously stupid. Good luck getting through a pox gas mission with 9,000 pox bombers all over the place and gas everywhere. Its also ridiculous you can get the twins and like 3 other bosses simultaneously at any given time and that doesnt include any other enemies that could be around. I mean who do they think is completing this nonsense? I was watching people try and beat 30’s on stream yesterday and they were getting their asses handed to them and quickly at that. Fatshark can keep this mess cuz I dont want it yall can have that hell of a game mode its dead as far as im concerned. The enemy spam in this game is already absurd but now they have cranked that up by a million and its neither fun nor engaging from what ive seen.
I do echo this overall sentiment, it’s the natural outcome of constant power creep. Loses a lot of the skill and decision-making when the game has to be balanced around overpowered player tools like spammable VoC / Chorus, dueling sword / combat knife / plasma, infinite mobility, game-mechanic-breaking blessings like uncanny/agile, purgatus left click spam, etc.
Bring outliers in line and you have an easier time balancing the game, imo.
