I think they’ve established in some dialogue that it was the Third War.

The First War of Armageddon was fought around 40,441 whilst Darktide is set approximately around 41,000. That’s a good 559 years that Morrow would’ve had to have been lost in the Warp for if he really had fought in that one.

I’m not so sure, in one voice line the Professional Vet seems genuinely surprised to hear that Morrow fought at Armageddon. If it was the Third War of Armageddon (which took place in 40,998), it would’ve only been a few years before Darktide - and the Professional Vet wouldn’t be surprised at al.

There were some item description veteran gear that described how Grendyl recruits from the veterans of the Third War too.

Also it could be surprising that Morrow survived the 3.75-way quagmire that was the latter days of the Third War, especially with how messy it got.

Was that from the original Steel Legion set? Those are my only premium cosmetics. If so, I’ll have a read.

Fair. I think I once heard a Psyker say he’s lived a lot longer than he looks or something.

Very true! It’s a shame that the latest vox probably debunked genestealers coming next. I was getting a little too hyped after seeing that same video by Jo.

Same!

Morrow being a lot older than he looks (by several centuries, potentially) is a pretty frequent topic of discussion amongst the Rejects.

On this note as well, it’s a bit more iffy since 8th edition. I believe in modern 40k a century or more has passed since the millennial change, so he would still be unusally old if he was at the 3rd war.

Time is a bit of a mess since M42 started. Basically, the first of the Dark Imperim books suggested that all of that happened early on in the first century, with the Indomitus Crusade beginning shortly after the Second Siege and lasting at least 150 years.

However, later novels, as well as I believe the codices, constricted the Indomitus Crusade to a mere 12 years that followed on immediately after the Second Siege. So we’re, at most, like somewhere around 025 M42 at the latest, before we worry about the issues caused by Cicatrix Maledictum as it makes a casual mockery of time.

But yeah, it’s all a chaotic mess, and regardless of the timescale, I think the general consensus is that Morrow was waylaid in the warp during transit at least once (maybe more than once).
