Wrack and ruin as well as kinetic flayer

these are 2 small ideas i had while playing with the two but they both dont seem to fully fill the role they seem meant to play in the psyker kit.

wrack and ruin as an exampleis meant to be blasting out aoe soulblaze dmg and helping make sure your being useful and doing area dmg even when you go to pop something with BB but half the time the specialist or elite is to spread out anyways likely cause the horde got dropped in a manner of seconds meaning its hole purpose is null or someone just kills it before you again rendering the whole trait null. personally i think its change simply should be to remove the line about only affecting specialists and elites.

conversely kinetic flayers runs headlong into the issue that it most certainly can be useful for building charges on gun psyker and melee psyker builds but its also meant to be a free totally costless BB on one random target every 15 seconds with it seems the idea that you count when the trait is off cooldown and than unload into a specialist or elite preferably with a small burst to insta kill or severly injure key targets depending on if its a mauler or ogryn type. the issue ends up being with no icon to show when its up or when its on cooldown still and the fact that seeing it pop is hard and making sure it pops on the targets you want it to pop on, it mostly is only useful for the charge build side of things. personally i feel that while its current state is best for gun builds as it is helpful for charge maintainence, there should be a addition to make it so for warp attacks, it can only pop on specialists or elites so that way it can serve its current utility role to help make gun psyker more viable while also being a genuine choice for staff psykers in helping pop annoying specialists or elites in the crowd while also again, helping with charge maintainence.

hell something else that could also be done to just buff wrack and ruin a bit more is to instead leave it as it is to add to its current version a bonus 25% BB speed. this would make it easier to only BB and would give you a bit easier time to pop those rushin ragers before they pop you like one of those fake zombie skulls from zombie go boom…

Wrack and Ruin is a fine choice if you are building around Kinetic Barrage as it is due to SoulBlaze stacking. The tooltip still doesn’t say it, but is on hit not kill anymore. It shines on hi-five difficulty levels, especially in ambush situations where a horde drags in the elite ambiance. Just fire up Kinetic Barrage and few hits in and everything starts melting. I don’t think it needs any more buffs.

hmm well ill give it a shot. i guess you do still get to use wildfire on it but its hard enough to BB elites and if there are no elites it gets no value leaving it a waste of a slot that just makes it so its not really useful enough to justify the lack of bonus peril resist and 6 warp charge stacks since wildefire is needed for it to do its best effect.

There are always elites on damnation and if you don’t mind maintaining the warp charges manually, with Psykinetic’s Aura you always have Kinetic Barrage available. This build will get even more value when we get a condition with extra elites. It is already a decent choice for the shock gauntlet.
