For all the people complaining about everything all the time, I’d like to at least share my appreciation to FS for making probably the best Warhammer game ever, and letting me now play out my police brutality fantasy alongside my dog Guinness.
Thank you Fatshark.
The core gameplay loop and the character interactions are probably the most fun thing I have ever played, but the game is not free of criticism for that merit alone.
Actually they “complaining about everything all the time” mean they love this game ![]()
It’s just some of them are right and some of them are wrong.
Absolute zero degree means truly death.
By the way, the doggys are really great and really cool ![]()
Here we go again. You can thank Fatshark for what they have done right without making sweeping generalisations that reads like you’re trying to insult and/or invalidate any criticism.
No I’m insulting and invalidating the horrendous lack of positivity, gratitude or grace among a lot of people who post here. The game is not perfect. But it has captured a lot of people and a lot of their time, and there is no alternative, and as a Warhammer fan, I love the detail and feel of the game as well as the core gameplay
. So I’d like to say something nice to try to counter the toxic drool I’ve seen over the last few weeks as I came here daily for updates on the recent content. It has been gross and embarrassing that so many people can complain so vehemently and constantly.
I am simply thankful to have the game, even with its faults, and a dev team that, while not the most expedient or accurate at times, clearly cares and is still working on an amazing game.
You literally could have just had the last line of that and no one would have said anything.
It’s not like the bar is very high. This game is a mess, and has been a mess since day one. The fact it’s still somehow the “best” 40k game on the market (excepting Space Marine) means the license has been done a grave disservice by every single developer.
Void War is a top contender, but don’t tell Games Workshop anything other than it being Legally Distinct.
You guys spell Rogue Trader wrongly
No, it isn’t. It’s actually quite shocking how so many developers take an amazing universe like 40k’s and make incredibly subpar products. I cannot say Fatshark has done that, as much as some claim to think they have.
Ok? But as far as I have seen it’s a toxicity problem. I can’t go to their house, slap them with my glove and challenge them to fisticuffs for Fatsharks honor, so I’m calling it out. Screaming my frustrations into the void of the internet, and being one of the few to say thank you for the fun as hell game. You can say the game isn’t perfect, but this spoiled entitled attitude is disgraceful.
You are missing the point some of us endure through the FS bulshittery since previous games. I play Tides since V1 for example, and not so much changed in how they develope their games or communicate. One day honeymoon just ends.
As long as you’re clear about it. Veiled or barbed insults undermine any show of positivity.
When I’m not treated like a wallet
I’ll show appreciation other than that, this is nothing more than a consumer company ‘relationship’ aka I spent money and I got a product.
Owlcat, Larian and arrowhead are good examples of developers to be actually be appreciative of because they actually sacrifice opportunities for short term profit to actually build good will with their community long term
I’m really sick of this forced positivity attitude to companies that view you as nothing more than a statistic.
Oh you’re thankful that’s nice now go buy another 20 dollar cosmetic set.
Oh no my attitude to the company that wants to milk me for money is ‘disrespectful’
Grow up
You are nothing to them
You mean nothing to them beyond a % on a quarterly earnings report
If fatshark ever actually sacrificed anything for community good will my stance here would be different but it’s so blinding obvious how they view us.
What do you want them to sacrifice exactly? Do you know their operational costs? The game is “free” at least on Xbox game pass. How else do they make money? And if they really do need the money for stable operation, less money means less product that everyone is clamoring for and complaining about.
Yeah, cut the prices, cut the budget, cut the output, and reap more of the same complaints from the player base. Brilliant.
I AM a grown ass man and I can and will spend my money on whatever I want, however useless it is.
It seems like you should grow up and stop with this utopian expectation for free nonsense.
And if you’re so scandalized by a company putting out a product and expecting compensation, why still play? It seems to me you should take a moral stance and boycott the game if you’re being so bent over a barrel and FORCED to pay outrageous prices for cosmetics.
If i could i would put 10 likes to your post.
(I talk about the post right above… Not OP one)
Darktide just seems to be one of those games that is stuck with a hatedom.
Darktide is a $40 game that took 2.5 years to put out its first DLC.
Yes, the cosmetic system is awkward and comically overpriced, but in every other game I play I’m told “it’s okay they charge ridiculous prices for those, they’re just cosmetics” or “only weirdos buy them anyway” or some such like that. Why doesn’t Darktide get that pass? Bigger companies that charge $70 for the game and release DLC monthly get that pass.
The cosmetic system totally deserves the criticism, but just do what I do - don’t buy from it and just enjoy the game. I love the game. The game is really, really fun, and there’s nowhere else I can play an ogre and feel like I’m playing the big guy holding the line for my team.
Cheers
Let’s be honest. If we don’t buy from the shop, all of us, they would run into money problems.
But they could get the same amount of money if they lowered prices, allowed us to recolor clothes and stop the FOMO.
They put FOMO that is a lame tactic to get money from young adults… I am sure that the players here would buy a lot of things if there was no Fomo and correct prices.
But i know that we did not get ONE word about this for 2 years. So they will let the complains continue to grow until it goes out of control…
That’s the way they do business. Stupid way if you ask me.
