Would just like to thank FS

People like OP are the reason gaming companies get away with the outrageous sht they constantly pull. Actual battered wife syndrome. “Yes daddy, thank you daddy, hit me harder daddy, I’m sorry it was my fault daddy, yes I will do better next time daddy”.

If something isn’t working properly and/or has been falsely advertised it is justified to complain. FS isn’t your friend, it’s a company with profit as its main focus.

Insane behaviour.

As said this thread would be fine if it was hey cool update/dlc

But no they had to go and try and fight for fatshark’s ‘honor’ and show us disrespectful paying customers how awful we are for having the audacity and daring to have complaints with a product.

I have just put a thumb down to their DLC due to their lame tactics about cosmetics.
I consider that 3 free cosmetics is not enough. My opinion is that they delivered a paid DLC with a quarter of the work done.
Also, the class seems NOT balanced. The dog seems really too good. I suppose in Auric it will be somewhat fine… but as we are forced to endure low difficulties… this is what I see. I could walk the entire level without fearing to go down.

Even though the gameplay loop is good, it’s always surrounded by problems and it takes years to solve them. Like the RNG crafting system which could be fixed literally in a day by removing stat bars and locks on weapons but no, we need to redesign the UI and think about how to keep it grindy because grind is so engaging and helps to retain players. Then it’s the mission board where you can’t choose what to play and the latest update doesn’t even solve it despite the devs’ intentions. You’ve finished, for example, high-intensty shock troop gauntlet Power Matrix? Oh, play it again because there are no other maps with the same modifiers. We will also develop a challenging game mode for the most dedicated players but won’t give them any agenda because players’ choice is bad and harms player retention according to our genius strategy. Don’t like the map? Beat it or derank. Don’t like modifiers? Beat the map or derank, we don’t care about it. And we also add the ranking system which literally serves no real purpose other than to increase grind in the game because grinding is so cool and engaging again. Imagine designing a video game which is just fun to play so people stick with it instead of trying to use silly strategies to keep people interested in it. Not even mentioning a lot of bugs which are ignored for months because we need a new content to sell.

NOOOOOOO STOP COMPLAINING
You need to be thankful to the company that ignores us.

I complain if I want!!! [Rolls on floor :sob:]

More seriously… I paid, they deserve this. They never learn. They don’t communicate, they use lame tactics (recolors and now a full class that you buy and where you will buy every cosmetic).
I am sure they will let the situation without any answer, unless things go out of control.
Seriously, I have never seen such stupid behavior by a game company. Never.

I like when a gaming company does a screw up, threads like these instantly emerge and start meta-complaining because it is apparently very smart and morally superior. Happens LITERALLY to the every game I was following in the last couple of years, including TWW, Helldivers 2, PoE2, etc…

At this point I am convinced that these threads are made by some sort of damage-controlling AI because of how simillar the narrative is.

On the one hand, it’s a bad idea to assume people who disagree with you are actually bots.

On the other… Fatshark would absolutely spend money to have bots defend them rather than adopt more consumer friendly practices.

Mentally a child… yeah, anyway, did you play Vermintide 2? Point to me all the customization options. How were they better? There were less, in frequency, roughly the same price if I recall correctly, the same style of slap 3 different skins on your character, little to no free color variation, and not only were the cosmetics paid, but so were the ******* content DLC.
But ok, it’s been a while since I played VT, maybe I forgot and I’m wrong. In any case, explain to me what Fatsharks business model should be. How should they make money? How often should they put out free content, updates, paid DLC, etc. What should they price their products at. What should their work look like to you? What would make YOU happy? Please explain me. Am metally a children. And a corporate cuck, apparently. Or, I’m not so entitled as to try to decide what others labor should cost. If I didn’t want to pay or play I would simply not. It isn’t difficult.

“best warhammer game”

But Dawn of War 1+2 exist. Best wh game where you don’t play a space marine, however, I think I might tend to agree, unless I’m forgetting some banger.

Vermintide 2 didn’t try to:

  • Obfuscate the price of items by implementing a layer of funny money, or

  • Maximise player spending by having funny money packs never come in amounts that could purchase items with none left over, or

  • Restrict the store so much that you can only see 5%, if that, of all the cosmetics they ever released and insult the game’s audience at the same time, or

  • Remove the ability to purchase 95% of that content because of Fear of Missing Out practices, with only a nebulous maybe as to when items might return, or

  • Have a fully functional cash shop where they hadn’t even finished implementing, in their own words, a “pillar of gameplay” (itemisation and crafting), or

  • Design and neuter the features of the hub and other game systems to try to steer people towards spending money on cosmetics, or

  • Repeatedly invoke shrinkflation by both raising prices and reducing what you get in a bundle, or

  • Sell a significant amount of paid cosmetics that are simply a (in some cases, slight) colour change with more or less doodads in slightly different locations for full or higher prices, or

  • Charge more than a quarter of the price of the game itself for a single outfit.

  • Almost absolute silence on any of the above points (The almost being an interview with Fatshark claiming they weren’t trying to be predatory)

It’s not purely the business model that get criticised so much, but the scummy and manipulative dark systems, tactics and practices that they both attempted and continue to do to this day. The existence of all those points that do exist in Darktide has put me off from really spending any money on Darktide and has made me cast a much more critical eye over Fatshark’s actions and practices.

The game is great and they’ve been doing a great job so far.
But it would be better if they have a few very skilled players in the team.

People who also says “if you don’t care don’t buy” don’t understand the concept of standarts and Overton Window. Lootboxes today, paid UI options tomorrow or ads during cinematics. If someone is trying to put a finger in your anus, one day they will try to put there a baseball bat. Unless it’s your gf or a doctor (check your prostate health boys, don’t be shy)

Now we wait for him to ignore all those valid arguments and either move the goal post or change the topic.

They also said in that interview that they were gonna release a 100 Aquila pack so that people could buy just enough for something they wanted, ‘in the coming weeks’.

It has been over two and a half years since that statement.

You can certainly try.

Just an idea for a potential future appreciation post: Have it be about the things you appreciate instead of actively insulting the people that voice criticism.

Said critisism helped make the game as good as it is today, don’t forget that either.

I love the rational behind “complaining about complainers”
By complaining about “them”, you become one yourself.
Nobody made you read or engage in whatever you’re complaining about.
What do you think you’d achieve by complaining about “complainers”? The things that are justly being criticised don’t go away because you get annoyed by them.

Dw, i got you

Why should we be concerend about that?

That’s their job, not ours.

Funnily enough, if they didn’t try so hard to make money, they’d be making more of it.
