Worst Experience in Darktide?

In fairness, it’s a game and universe that literally screams at you to do the crazy thing, and that thinking too hard is bad.

“No man who died in the Emperor’s service that died in vain”

“Blessed are they without introspection, for they shall know no doubt”

“Ignorance is the best defence”

“You need understand nothing to do your duty”

“Lack of faith is tantamount to treason”

“True faith is blind and justified”

“Let faith trample reason”

“Let not thy hate by conquered by fear”

“Doubt not thy strength whilst faith prevails”

“Faith conquers all”

“Faith needs no excuse”

“Heed not the whispers of the faithless”

“Duty is vital, understanding is not”

“A coward’s only reward is to live in fear another day”

“A pity it is that we can die but once in the Emperor’s service”

As Munky noted, the game’s systems really largely incentivize (or at least don’t inhibit) players from trying stuff they’re really not ready for, and that doesn’t feel like it’s out of place in 40k. Unready/incapable teammates feel like they’re as much a part of the universe and setting as the enemies.

We were not happy with this Ogryn because he grieffed. Tell the whole story when you complain please.

What did he do, I need more info before I layeth down the almighty judgement of MunKy! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not just any munky, the AnalOgMunky!

I’m curious too though, I’m not one to reward griefers but 30mins is excessive, and why not kick said griefer? Was he really griefing?
P.S. In general, not kicking the griefer is itself a form of griefing. Stop rewarding bad behavior, people!

reads like this vagina-fart thing… queef? would be a damn impressive feat for a male ogryn to clench his balls that hard.

Last person with us was too kind, we tried to kick him he said he was chill with him because he might have been a beginner (which he wasn’t since it was a T4 Auric).
He literally stood in each room he was spawned in, refused to move on and refused to communicate even by pings.

As in literally stood still and did nothing?

Nah he moved, killed a bunch of enemies but never came to the first checkpoint, he died and got later revived, doing the exact same thing.

They waited until we had completed the mission and where in the dropship to try and kick the ogryn… and just because someone is still learning the game dosnt mean you can kick them.

Your not the law and stallone isnt even judge dredd smh

if failing to keep up is this fundamental and persistant, no matter the point chosen for the kick, the player in question was a very disruptive factor to the brink of acticely sabotaging the match due to severe lack of understanding and skill.

just as i dont “learn” anything by getting mob rushed and pummeled on the floor by a dozen assailants, no matter how good i can handle myself in a 1:1 scenario, he was so far outa his league as to being a detriment to the team it seems.

its his job to “learn” not our job to “teach” much less to someone not having a grasp of whats going on or a flimsy 30 minutes at hand.

back in the day i took literal months to learn jumps across quake3 dm6 or tourney2 and made sure i was ready before entering a match.

darktide takes much less in that regard and still people fail to display common respect as in doing even their basic home work.

maybe he should stay in malice or lower until or if ever he reaches proficiency to provide actual benefits to his team.

had 2 dudes the other day were we called it quits for the were literally uncarryable, actively hindering progress and dying all over.
we could have chosen to leave em downed and clear the run duo, but even then they wouldnt have watched and learned.

what is there to teach to the unwilling?

i literally put together tutorial videos, however amateurish they are.

what would you think the numbers of players going out of their way to actually watch such tutorials be?
2% , 5%?

most of the time randoms is groundhog day all over, which is fine, to a degree it spices things up.

but if people are beyond help and so far outa line, you better call it quits.

as for kicking at the end, yeah unecessary to as a frustrated gfys understandable

People play bad all the time in pub games its not unusual and it dosnt bother me. I see it as an extra challenge to play with any random player using whatever build. Thats why i quickplay in auric it stops it getting boring if i dont know what map what mods and what type of guy ill be playing with.

It is however very unusual to see two guys refuse to get into the drop ship at the end of the match because they want to stick it to some other guy ive never seen that before and ive played thousands of rounds by now.

Im like superman - i join all the games people abandon because XX is a baddie or they thought the run was burned and i save them… fatshark should give me some sort of special entrance music like a wwf wrestler

I dealt with a player like this. He hit away any dogs and dodged any nets but otherwise just stood in same area not moving or talking, and stopped us from progressing because the elevator wouldn’t move without him.

He had a skulls frame too so it was very depressing that such a longtime player could be such a pos.

I blocked him and reported but reports seem to fall on deaf ears in DT I think.

Thats not what he was doing, he was just slow… everytime he had a netter mutant or whatever behind him he stopped to try and kill it while this guy and his friend ran ahead.

He wasnt a bot or a troll just some rando nubbins learning the game.

At no point did he stop the game from progressing at all…

Shame they deleted my post and thread of this initial dispute.

I’ll just put it here again:

If there is even one person you dislike playing with in a mission. I would just exit regardless of stage of the mission. With crafting changes you’ve probably got like 20+ million dockets, 1-2 million plasteel to the point losing out on earning that little bit more won’t make a difference. But a re-matchmake takes seconds and hopefully a more courteous team.

I do that all the time. I’ll do it even if just 1 person acts up, plays selfish etc.

I don’t bother with doing votekick, using chat/VoIP to dispute etc. Exit then re-match make, saves time and you’ll feel better for it.

Virtue signalling as it’s finest. Complete cringe and contribution to the problem.

Your moral compass is completely skewed un mask more and explain why not being toxic contributes to “the problem” whatever that is… pls explain

doge big cronge

The only real problem i see is a toxic core of people on darktide who like to try and abuse the vote kick function to be spiteful. Which breaks ToS and should be punished by admins.

Only people who broke ToS here are the two people who erfused to get onto the dropship at the end of the mission
