Which specific error? “Out of mem” error can encompass many different errors. The most common is Lua script not having enough heap, default 1 GB, you can get this even without mods (though worse with) due to the crafting updates. You can have all the RAM in the world and you’d till get this error otherwise with the 1gb default limit.
IDK if it was fixed but you can prevent this error by setting a 2gb max Lua heap size.
This isn’t a really horrible experience, it was mostly hilarious.
I joined a havoc lobby; it was like havoc 18 or something. All is fine and then a stealth zealot joins and spams the chat with “no ragequit” and “reject incoming” (in red)
The entire mission this dude runs ahead of everyone, I’m trying to stay by the ogryn and the psyker so they don’t die. I’m actually surprised the stealth zealot survived the whole time - he did almost die but killed a chaos spawn by himself and did the elevator/scan portion of vigil station oblivium all by himself before we could catch up to him.
At one point the psyker tried to keep up with the stealth zealot, the psyker ended up dying and I was just with the ogryn, we barely survived. Near the end of the mission, I health stimmed the psyker and the stealth zealot got mad at him because he thought he stimmed himself lmao. The mission ended with like 1-2 minutes of health stim arguing. I wish I took another screenshot, but I forgot.
When it comes to modding, the players with that mod, which is shared in small hardcore discord servers, are probably the most pretentious and rude players. They’re super sweaty and normally nag about how easy the game is. I’ve met a handful in my 1.6k hours and all of them were like this.
Playing half an hour, clutch over clutch, getting out of kill boxes unscathed, two bosses and a whole bunch of horde mixed in can’t touch the team, yet one knife zealot says “sry dude, was out of stamina” and the poxburster he didn’t push gets the whole team down.
Yeah, you’ll be out of stamina if you run around with a knife like that and it’s dangerous and stupid in havoc 40.
That’s what I am seeing more. People seem to miss camo vet and now we got Zealots using their shroud for escape and carry on standing still shooting then let others tank.
Way too many autogun Vets than ever before. Getting murdered at close range by crushers and now recent change - body carapace for armored ragers.
I am surprised it is very rare to see plasma vets. There was as time so many Vets running it back in the day. Still insanely effective anti-large weapon and ammo efficient at the same time.
Choice is now stick to Auric where hardly any players use autoguns but I dislike going hyper awareness for long periods and sometimes what to chill in T5 normal.
The ogryn was getting disabled, killed and trapped by just about everything possible. Once he was dead he was going on and on and minimizing my performance because my build was “too OP”. His thank you at the end was almost assuredly sarcastic as I told him I’m not OP, he’s just shite at the game, which he didn’t like. His True Level was around 220 ish.
The veteran was using executioners stance whilst surrounded by melee chaff and elites and could not stay on his feet for more than about 6-7 minutes. His True level was 50 something.
The zealot was trying to shoot his way out of melee engagements with his laspistol. He spent most of the round dead. His true level was 60 something.
The mission was Comms-Plex 154 and this whole thing took over an hour as I first had to clutch through the streets after the bridge and then the whole interior area after the scanning which involved 2 hordes, a plague ogryn and some kind of obscene gunner horde of probably 30 in the last corridor before you go up the stairs to the roof with about 5 rounds of bolt pistol ammo.
I’ve said it before and I will say it once again; I have no clue how these people do not display even a modicum of shame or contrition at being such absolute dead weights. My own brain would explode on account of such levels of delusion being fatal.
It is like you can can never win. If you don’t do enough damage, called out. If you’re playing optimum and deleting elites it is considered too OP. So do people simply want “medium” setting of human players.
Plasma Vet too OP, Psyker smite, makes game slow and too easy stun everything, DS, Cat 3 knife etc etc. The tools are there for the player to use and choose. They just seem to direct their anger to ones that use it when it wasn’t them that created it.
Zealots pretending to be Vets to hit F to shroud then continue when aggro goes to someone else
Ogryn gunner sitting the back and avoiding front line completely and pretending to be a Vet once again but with higher health as some sort of false advantage.
Just saw a Psyker with autogun, he was using smite stun to get away as escape for few secs, then let someone else deal with and stand far away like a turret shooting autogun again.
They need to limit ammo to each player. Everyone is competing with eachother for ammo grabs and not focusing on actual enemies. Maybe they’ll understand the melee mechanics of the game more if it forced them to not rely on ammo so much.
Best Auric game I had recently was a full team of zealots, very aggressive, nobody bothered to heal, their builds melee focused. Fast 18 min game, split sec untrapping people, lightning reflexes. Once in a full moon.
My favorite is “lol you do a lot of damage because you magdump into hordes”, okay, even if we ignore that I am way ahead in elite/special kills of these people, what is wrong with killing hordes? It’s not like they die to every second horde anyway.
Literally this… Vet is pretty damn good, honestly. Can literally 1-2 shot crushers/maulers with certain abilities, blessings & perks. Almost a little too good if you ask me…
I do have an idea on how to make Close and Kill better. I’m still mulling it over, but I’d start by renaming it “Paratrooper” and then giving it something like this:
+2.5% Movement Speed but you gain a Stack for every Player who isn’t in Coherency with you, reaching a maximum of +10% Movement Speed.
Take no Fall Damage.
Ideally it would only trigger those additional Stacks while you’re either behind your teammates or the last one alive, that way you can’t just use it to rush ahead of the team like Loner + Shroudfield Zealots.
Edit: The purpose of “Paratrooper” would be to allow you to hang back and snipe key Enemies from a distance or a high ground and then quickly catch back up with your team without taking any Fall Damage whenever you jump down from a high sniping position.
This isn’t me saying console players are bad. It is because of accessibility of console that it attracts immature playerbase mixed into good awareness console players. It is just less of it on PC playerbase.
I think a nerf to survivalist was warranted but I also think the nerf it got was too heavy handed. There should definitely be a cooldown because without one it’s blatantly broken, but I think the % of ammo received per activation needs to be very slightly higher so it still retains the function it had previously but in a more considered and less broken manner.
Ranged focused veteran builds have been more or less redundant since this nerf and I reckon this is why. They can still be potent in certain situations, but the whole point of survivalist was to make almost exclusively ranged builds viable and worthwhile. Between the survivalist nerf and the enormous uptick in enemy density with no change to executioners stance, a ranged veteran build is not as viable and reliable as it should be. There’s no point in using one when you can just create a jacked up zealot veteran with VoC and dominate everything way more safely.
