Your total Exp is still shown, why cant you just continually level up, its fun to level grind. Seems like an easy feature to add to enhance the game.
There is actually a mod for that called ”True Level” that lets you see your own and other players level over 30
Yeah, I don’t really see the downside to just having True Level be in the base game. It’s a harmless bit of faux progression for people to feel good about seeing number go up. Same reason people like the “prestige” mechanic in Call of Duty games.
It is fun indeed, I just congratulated one of my buddies on his level 300. ![]()
(He didn’t know it himself because he doesn’t use mods.)
I got congratulated on my 1k xp ogryn…but I didn’t have a clue as I don’t use mods.
Would be nice to see it in game.
Yes always irked me as I have gotten some comments on my high true level. Turns out 500 is already recognised as high
It would be nice to see what my own true level is, not gonna lie.
Its interesting to see other players levels too, I’ve seen a few people with over 2500. In havoc lobbies you can roughly gauge the team’s experience before trying to join, or see which players might need help in game.
these two together were in a take I read some while ago when it was feared people getting judged wrongly based on their “low level”
counter argument: unless you’re some gaming god, when it’s your first <50 character, you’ll not get picked for highest difficulty, period.
same as in sports when the runt gets picked last for good reasons.
when chosing people want to make the best choice naturally, havoc skewing this into pure panic mode doesn’t mean the procedure of choice is wrong
Because FS decides to listen to some sensitive whiny bunch that consider basic (for live service games) features like scoreboards and true level “toxic”. No other reason, really ![]()
true level can be an indicator, but not to be taken without a grain of salt. a level 50 scum can be anything, someone who played daily since the beta, or a player on their first character because they bought the dlc now with the game. you see how they behave as soon as the first fight starts.
anyway, it gives the game a sense of progression, which players without the mod lack. seeing everyone at 30 feels so weird to me.
Same here whenever the mod doesn’t work correctly on occasion.
it seems to show everyone in the mourningstar as 30 since the last update, only when inspecting them or in a lobby and the actual game it shows the correct level.
So ive also noticed no devs reply to any feedback of actual value , this true?
They don’t post in feedback threads. It would turn into bargaining.
They do make game changes based on ideas/feedback on the forum though. There have been clear cases of that. Just not all of it and not straight away.
i get that, as a dev i’d like to do my coding and not justify my decisions on a forum. i just don’t like how the smallest changes seem to take forever. the game has been tracking the progress since it came out, so it’s simply a decision to show that value natively, while for now we need a mod to do that.
I take personal credit for them giving Kantrael lasguns wider raycast, stubber AP values and THammer unpowered into Maniac. You are welcome. Maybe some day they’ll give braced autoguns some cleave and undo that horrible spread when moving they gave to the heavy infantry autogun and ruined it for me for forever. One of my favorite guns straight into the bin ![]()
some weapons seem to have a balance targeting the game at release, not 3.5 years later. back then probably spread was seen as a balancing factor for the more powerful BAG shots, or the delay on powering up chain weapons for the killing blow. now it only makes the BAG useless when not point blank, or chain weapons clumsy.
Also they’re not PR trained. Without a chaperone and a shock collar they tend to walk into gotchas.
Tbh, I would find that quite interesting as well. My guess is that all my operatives have a rather low true level. Because I love(d) to start a new operative all over again after some time. And to save slots I often deleted the already level 30 operative… If I understood the Mod correctly it counts the exp of the one specific operative so, yeah, all my operatives must have a pretty low true level. Which then could be misleading to people because they would think I just started playing the game.
