I suppose when FS will finaly finish this Stormfiend reskin from V2 after 3 years, people will screech in rapture “oooh they were cooking all this time aaahhhh”
For a game with generated non detailed maps, with the same easy objectives.
Yes… actually there is a campaign on Earth (you can still play against other factions).
Maps are really different… on Earth, I had to walk lot of time cause of the giant buildings. Large avenues are death valley of megacities (illuminatis bombard them constantly). Really I loved.
Guess what… I would have loved procedural maps in Darktide. Especially when you look at the lack of coherence of the environment of the missions…
Seriously, maps are beautiful… but the path we follow is not coherent.
I love.
Lot of things that they deliver are just delayed content. Sad, but true.
So glad in DT we have detailed maps in different biomes, and dynamic wether, and day/night. Just like in V2 right?
Not only green, grey and brown corridors. I remember they said their new map tools will allow them to create maps faster, somehow it’s the same pace as with V2, but oh well.
Ah yes, unique objectives for every map like calling basilisk barage, or shooting down valkyre helicopter boss. Not just shared hacking, scanning, and carring cells in different decorations. I suppose it should help to create maps faster aswell.
Pity in V2 objectives are thematicaly unique for every map, like carrying a cannon ball and shoot cannons, or pushing a ram. Or like destroying a bell on the screaming bell, and many others.
tbh i have bought a lot of skins simply because i liked them and i don’t have the space&time for real miniatures.
but what frustrates me above all is not being able to buy anything that is not on rotation, no matter how much real money i dump into aquilas.
so even if you want to support fatshark, you have no option but to vote with your wallet, because anything else sends the message that fomo works and there is no need for a change.
i can only hope that they’ll learn from arrowhead and make a catalog of what has already been on sale.
of course, cosmetics alone are not the reason why hd2 has 30-35x the player numbers of darktide, but it can be a factor in this.
It is the amazing variety in colour palette use and location type in VT2 - castles, mines, sewers, farms, forests, church, towns, big bridges, fortresses etc. Darktide has convenience of all mission locations based in one city for it to look very similar, but it doesn’t have to be always brown/grey.
Darktide true team work only happens near or at the end with certain mechanics. VT2 had fun team mechanics through the missions. Escort mining cart, throwing barrels etc. VT2 had more vertical element of traversal from platforms or spiral tree etc.
I NEED THIS please!!!
They literally just came out with a whole new event on earth with new terrain, new objectives, new enemies, new allies, and new weapons, more genuinely new content than Darktide’s gotten in a year, all within a genuinely cohesive and advancing story.
I don’t get the hate on the maps. Darktide is a game on literal rails with clear and direct paths along which players are guideded, which is fine, but it’s the same thing every time. I don’t see where that means that Helldivers maps aren’t “detailed” aside from they don’t have exquisitely modeled interior environments, but you’re fighting outside the whole time, where you’ve got vegetation, smoke, large buildings, etc along with significant terrain and feature destruction/deformation.
I’m not sure what you mean by “easy” objectives, I guess you’re not forced to sit in a killroom to complete them, but can be just as hectic and overwhelming as anything in Darktide. I’m not sure operating a scanner is spectacularly more exciting than raising a flag or loading an artillery cannon.
