Not only do they never do the right thing on the first try. When the players tell Fatshark what the players are wanting and why the “fancy, awesome, grand” new system is not enjoyable, broken, and/or unfun, Fatshark doubles down on how they made the right decision and it was definitely just the players being unused to the new stuff and how we’ll come around. Then 3-6 months later, it’s “it was just a placeholder guys” or “we’ve been working for ‘over a year’ to bring this redesigned system to you!” instead of “Hey, we should have listened to you guys, we’re fixing it. Sorry!”
where do people get this idea from? its mostly art and lore.
Pretty sure theyre still on break or theyre just back from break n have yet to get the ball rolling again.
Hi, hello y’all. I know I’ve been more absent on the forums / Reddit for the past few weeks, and I apologize for that! I am fixing that.
There is a Darktide 101 dev blog coming out today. I am also working with the team on some other blogs about future content to share!
I’ve seen some comments from players saying it felt like I had succumbed to the curse of FS CM’s and fallen silent. I promise that’s not the case
We love Strawhat
Forget about that one.
That’s what it seems like
I can certainly express myself, but the fact that GW is slowing down updates is understandable, but even without that there is always a sense of confusion, at least from the lack of a roadmap, all I know about 2025 is that there will be 4 major updates.
I have absolutely no interest in playing, I am more amused to see with what builds and things to me ask for 40 Havoc, by the way, thank you for the convenient functionality of the evaluation of the player at this point, oh yes it’s a mod…
Read the forum is also interesting, but here to play 0 desire, cor mode that should be interesting and cause a desire to hang out in it for people like me, works and looks repulsive. One friend at the weekend failed to load on a mission because of the game crashes (he does not play mods) and took off 3 attempts, guess what words from him were)).
Killing Floor 3 is coming out soon and I have a greater desire to hang in there, although I love Darktide, but the game has turned into a ‘entertain yourself’ game
Good to know! Hope to get some positive details/news about updates soon, then.
The fact that you are acknowledging this phenomenon and not trying to defend the undefendable case that it indeed is, gives me the impression that you are on the player base’s team.
I appreciate your candidness, StrawHat, thank you.
A bit of a minority here but…
Your player base is a big influencing factor. If you get burned by saying something, a release date, a patch, whatever, and the community responds negatively, it’s not going to reinforce anything.
And I think there’s been some of that. Things happen in programming, dates get pushed back, but due to how people react I can understand they’re a lot more terse about what the timeline is.
Personally I don’t really care. They can be silent. Just say something when they have it right. Maybe for the best. That they don’t announce it (whatever they’re working on) until they have something solid and then work on optimizing it and fixing it.
Not to say it’s the only reason they don’t communicate as much, or have as much content coming down the line. I am fine with less content and comms and just play other games, do things other than video games.
Sometimes I wonder if the “lack of communication” is translation for not enough content/fixes to generate hype/engagement. Or to mean community engagement with CMs. Either way I am not overly concerned. It has a pulse. Could be better. Could be worse too.
Did you read the second half of my post, or did you stop at the first? I know that it can’t just be GW. But I have also learned what GW is like, and they are absolutely one of the factors at play.
@FatsharkStrawHat and you can honestly ignore the Steam Forums too. I still skim it on occasion in downtime but Steam Forums are usually a cesspool to rival Reddit
Especially about Solo Mode
(I didn’t mention it in my two other posts, after all)
Yeah Steam forums are…pretty darn terrible.
cos they suck
part of the way they handle the community is to pretend they cant hear them when they dont have a good answer for wtf is going on. terrible pr decision and makes them look extremely unprofessional too.
Much, much worse. Steam and even most of Discord are…yeah, they make Reddit seem downright tame by comparison.
I did read both parts twice just to make sure.
This is too real
The muh gw shield has been a flimsy excuse for too long.
This
The community has literally screamed at fatshark to do things with the premium store they will pay for hand over fist.
And fatshark don’t do it.
