the ol’ triple stealth run FunBox. it’s not a matter of if the run fails, but when and who will rage in the chat first.

Remove the aggro dump node on vet and knife lunge movetech and most problems will go away. It does, along with the knife, seem to attract the worst players.
Oh and smokes.

aggro dump node is actually one of the only things encouraging you to use stealth with your team, when you don’t have a number higher than 1 on coherency it really doesn’t do much. I like using it to trigger a quick flank next to the group, and early on I noticed if I was trying to use it to extend my periods away from the team I’d still be dealing with specials and elites. its the only thing I like about it currently.

but yeah in general watching people run in circles and avoid stuff is the peak of anti gameplay and not interesting.

Because some people love being able to stealth.

Still would prefer the Zealot one to become like VT2’s Ranger veteran one.

Dogs should be able to know where is your stinky ass hiding when stealthed. Period.

Did a knife zealot got himself into trouble, brought a group of big boys on your doorstep and then dumped them all on you by stealthing? No need to be angry, not everyone can be as good as that guy.

I’d like the base stealth mechanic to have rubberbanding aggro bleed;
Around 80% directly when ending stealth, to prevent the AI from having one of its moments and instantly turning around wasting a followup backstab, followed by a short increased aggro so players running stealthed will still get the attention of mobs instead of dumping them all on their teammates. Such a mechanic could then be delayed for that veteran node, which is clearly meant to allow ranged backstabs and other team tactics - it could even be rewritten to say that the reduced aggro lasts longer while in coherency.
The stealth feels way less obnoxious when vets do it - maybe it’s the speed.

Not sure I follow, you can still use the stealth to flank without the aggro dump node? What am I missing?

10s of lingering reduced threat seems a bit much, something like 2s innate would be better for all parties involved.

P.S. While we’re at it, I think the stagger would be far more useful if it was VoC-level where it staggers ogryns and bosses, this would bring a lot more team value. Hel, this can replace the aggro dump node.

You can, but the actual effect of reduced threat is almost nothing without being in coherency. It encourages you to pull point flanks on elites or space inside your melee zone to take a shot at a bomber or whatever, while hanging out with the group. Its probably the only node that is well designed here and there is no benefit to using it outside coherency because of this design. You will be helping with the targets you are not being targeted by to make use of it, so you will be helping your team without intending to by using this node.

And I think the boss + ogryn stagger should have been its own modifier on VoC or swapping the cooldown of these abilities, but yeah that would be a huge power creep for it to compete with VoC.

That seems counter-intuitive to me, you can do pretty much all of that without the dumping ~all the hate on the rest of your team for 10 long seconds and the burst damage(s).

Aggro is probably based around distance and checked regularly, but not constantly.
Thus, decloaking with a stagger effect (not sure about the suppression now) might very well actually pull aggro towards the cloaking player.
Probably also the reason Knife zealots are so obnoxious: When new mob spawns are triggered, and the offending zealot is invisible, the mobs pick the rest of the team, then won’t suddenly retarget a few seconds later. Not that they’d ever reach the nitwit.

But there should be an option to set up ranged backstabs. There should probably be more options to pull aggro off teammates, too, and more predictable.

Stealth is in this game because I want to play with a build that is as toxic as possible.
