Why does zealot always get shafted on cosmetics?

Self relighting future candles do not go out for anything but a lack of faith.

Its literally a redemptionist set from above.

Those are imperial finery patterns. Maybe some upper crust zealot wear.

I can understand your point, personally besides the kreig mask, i dont like the skulls or hoods either. But they are in character. I’d rather either more reserved or more agressive preachers habits and less peasant scraps as cosmetics go. But i don’t think the cosmetics suck, theyre just not to my taste.

Yes I can see its inspired by the miniatures you posted. But i still feel like the way it is rendered ingame gives it this Rust/Call of Duty vibes. In the miniatures you get this really crusty old 80s horror vibe where as ingame you get this really sleek FaZe boy vibe.

Its a bit like if you compare Poxwalker miniatures and official art work from Games Workshop to the ones in game. The GW ones look like these horrific rotting flesh bags with skin loose and distended stomachs and other parts of the body also bloated and pus filled. In game you get super generic zombie game zombies with a few extra growths here and there. There skin is often grey/brown/green rather than that disgusting pale flesh pink. There is like one pink poxwalker model and he looks the most accurate. They are really skinny and skeletal. They look more like mummified corpses rather than the rotting flesh/pus horrors in the art work.

ITT: A bunch of filthy heretics and Xenos Lovers.

→ Picks zealot
→ W40K universe
→ Class is about running around screaming like a maniac and praising the God Emperor
→ Asks for outfit without religious implications
The absolute state…

Oh wait

Those elevator physics are something else. I love how ridiculous it looks. I don’t think that is the reason we don’t get proper robes, though.
Fatshark clearly doesn’t like rigging long coats to animations. See the Krieg coats. They are stiff like they just got defrosted.

Fear not, my Marylin Monroe comment was more in jest than anything serious. The physics engine seems to struggle with long coats although they had past success with Saltzpyre in Vermintide and Rannick has long coat skirts (thinking of the cutscenes in DT where he moves around). Perhaps they’re working on some way to make it all work and will fix the physics on the abomination that is supposed to be a DKoK uniform, but I won’t hold my breath.

Still, robes are a key aesthetic to the Zealot types and I do think that is part of what is missing from their wardrobe choices.

There is no physics on the coats in the game. They literally are just weighted to bones on the body. This is most evident when they are sat down in the pre mission load screen. @SgtHavelock

For people with no 3D model/animation lingo, this means the coat moves only in relation to something on the base model of the character. There is no gravity simulation.

This is a thread that is, secretly, about asking if Veteran can just have a full melee build already.

I didn’t realize before right now that our zealots are missing lever action shotguns, robes, pope hats, and giant, guady, ecclesiastical crushers

what is fatsharks problem with rigging long coats?

Nah bro cause veteran doesn’t have big chainsword

While true to both, there is a few coats that either clearly do have cloth physics OR are so well animation rigged, that you don’t see it.

Thinking of the yellow coat the veteran has.
This is actually what baffled me the most about the Krieg skins. Clearly they’re able to do it.
Either, just didn’t get around to it or it’s bugged.

Where did you find that cosmetic ? I actually love it and the gas mask looks amazing.

Leaked Cosmetic that hasn’t been in shop rotation yet.
You will be glad to hear - This one in particular has a variant for every class, so whatever you like to play you’ll be able to gear with it.

Yeah the candles ruin a lot of his gear. I guess its just an easy assest to re use from Sienna (when they bother to rig the flames properly that is). I’m also of the opinion he would be a lot more awesome if his upper body cosmetics all had a hood up and hood down style, but this is a general cosmetics complaint (if they want peak kit bashing there needs to be some more effort here Fat Shark).

But I do actually like the look of the weathered armors with purity seals books and armor plate. Those are all peak cosmetics for me.

I own the yellow coat and you can see it is really not physics when your character crouches/kneels or is sat during the loading mission screen in the ship. It floats out at weird awkward angles. Yes its very well animated and tbh this method is more reliable in most gameplay situations than what physics would do. In a lot of games that have physics on capes and stuff they really bug out and start twicthing and stuff. Or get stuck like in the character.

I don’t like playing zealot because of what absolute nutcases they are, but I agree.

they are hecking wholesome chungus keanu 100

Just give us battle sister skins already, idgaf if its gendered attire, im here to RP a repentia GDI, also… make the Evicerator bigger, its pathetic atm.

Anything at this point would be welcome. More free varied cosmetics for all classes would be nice. As a new player who enjoys having varied outfits, I got the red ragged attire from the cash shop with the red riding hood hoodie… Not much else to chose from.
