I’ve been playing since day one as a zealot main and it just kinda seems to me that zealot always just gets really bad premium skins, even all the free helmets you can get look really bad imo. I don’t get why like there’s just a lack of creativity when it comes to zealot skins.
Looking at the current veteran cosmetics you got this cool commissar skin and lots of people wanted that, then you got the krieg skin which is really cool, and this new “Cans” one does look pretty good too. The single piece cosmetics you can get also look generally well designed for veteran.
Ogryn you got this deserty looking outfit, followed by a pretty good krieg outfit, and then this new one with nice red armour that’s battle worn, again the single cosmetics are pretty good.
Psyker gets this very fancy looking skin that is good, then a very nice looking krieg skin, followed by this quite nice looking uniform and once again the single cosmetics are really good here.
Get to zealot you’ve got sackhead. I like parts of the skin but the thing as a whole just doesn’t look that good. The krieg skin is awful to me I really don’t get why it couldn’t just be the normal krieg gasmask with some kinda zealot flair to it like some burning candles or scriptures covering it, the mask just completely ruins it and it’s a shame because that’s the skin I’ve been waiting to get and I’m just not gonna get it. The newest skin like the body looks good but the helmet is just terrible to me. Going to the single cosmetic pieces they’re also rather lacklustre. It’s honestly a joke that one of the paid cosmetics this week is another hood. Why is anyone going to spend real money to get a plain red hood?
I get this is more subjective because it’s how I feel, and there’s probably plenty of people who think zealots cosmetics are good, people who think XYZ classes have bad cosmetics. I just want some cosmetics for my main class that look good to me, just like even the plain krieg gasmask. I’m sick of all the hoods and skulls and these helmets that either cover the top half of the face or the bottom half.
I’ll add this as well, the zealot krieg helmet doesn’t even need to be changed, just give us a single helmet that we can buy on its own that is just a normal krieg gasmask, sure add like a bit of zealot flair if you really want to. You could just add some different helmet to the top like veteran has a helmet. Sometimes less is more, and the amount you have added to that skin for zealot has made it lesser quality.
Note: Ogryn and zealot still lack the cosmetics from the cover
Tho Zealot and vet skins (Krieg) look awful especially the helmet. I also hoped to have anything but skulls for zealot, gasmask or something else. Also hoped to see a normal gasmask for zealot. Psyker seems to be getting the best stuff. (The elf of darktide).
Likely we will be getting sh*t, expect for a new dlc. Tho the game has only the barebones right now.

I thought krieg is gonna be the tacticool one and it still have candles and stuff. Idk why FS designer is so obsessed with the god darn shoulder candles for Zealot…
I actually like the sackhead one, fit perfectly with rat Zealot stealth build. I could also play infiltrate Vet instead of course, but I just like shroudfield better for aggressive play.
The upcomming Savlar cosmetic seem pretty cool, but Zealot’s still have the candles on shoulder bs. Veteran’s one is probably gonna be one of my most favorite cosmetic so far though.
I honestly don’t mind the candles and the purity seals, sometimes I think the candles can be a bit excessive. But yea I just want like something else not just the same stuff constantly. I really wanted a krieg skin at launch, I just want a proper like uniform and a gasmask really and I don’t think there’s really a better skin to use for that than krieg. But they manage to disappoint when it was something very simple to do.
Haven’t seen this savlar skin so I’ll try and find it.
I completely agree with you that the cosmetics of the zealots are underwhelming.
The only ones I like so far is the hiver outfit; “Baroness something” (the chest is called Scavenged Sanguine Garb, I don’t remember the sets name) and the new eye cybernetics we got.
The red MTX outfit, which is a hooded robe over armor; “Sister-in-wrath Elyna Priss”, is also okay, but is held back by the awful “caged bracers”, the weird black arms, and the chest armor that is too small and does not fill the empty black space.
I don’t know. It feels like they are creatively bankrupt when it comes to the Zealot.
Personally, I’d like to see more hiver armor in general. I like Krieg, but our characters are rejects, not members of a regiment. I’m glad it exists, though.
In terms of hiver: Veteran’s Armoured Combat Vest and forehead goggles, Zealot with the baroness cosmetic with gold pants with patterns, and Ogryn with the vest and leopard pants are exactly what I am looking for, personally.
Unfortunately, Psyker does not have a version of those sets.
Regarding the Savlar; the only good version of those is the Veterans, but once again, they muck it up by having tossed on two large floating pauldrons like they are making tier sets for World of Warcraft.
Just please, tone it down, make the cosmetics make sense.
Remember on launch the Zealot’s set with the long purity seals on it that kept flying upwards whenever the Zealot wearing it got in the lift?
I think one of the downsides of the Zealot outfits is we haven’t had any proper robes, something that is a mainstay of Priests and Zealots across the Imperium. When you look at those classic GW sculpts, robes for Ministorum people inevitably appear, and I think thats a big thing that is missing from their cosmetics in Darktide. I suppose they would have issues like the aforementioned preachers outfit with the long purity seals; speaking for myself, I don’t want to have a Zealot 'Marylin Monroe’ing inside the elevators!
SoB armour for female Zealots! Scavanged of course, because I do not belive aby Sister would end up as a Reject. At least not many of them. Ok, maybe a hospitaler or two - but still it would have been a tale of heart break and woe. For example familiy member unbeknown to her falling to chaos or something. But still it would be one in a milion case not justifying hundereds of SoB running around Mourningstar.
You have an awful taste. However being personal opinion it does not matter. Still would like to see some regiment helmets more ”organized” or militaristic stuff, tempestus scion etc. Just my preference, ALSO THE OGRYN ARMOR, for the love of god where is it!!?!
Yeah, the missing hose really killed the vet set. Also extremely dissapointed to the zealot one. Why not just make a skull painted to a helmet and have a proper black gasmask or something.
Also the colors are not so great . The set makes the operative look like a raccoon on the vet. I hope they will put the hose in and scale the chest pouch to be a smaller one. Then I would pay money for it. Especially if we would get a background for krieg……
I think the Zealot has some of the best cosmetics in the game, certainly some of the shiniest armor.
The Commissar skin, to me at least, is really poorly executed, being absurdly barrel chested and looks ridiculous on Female characters, and the hat cuts out your hair. Now, there’s a point to be made that a Commissar should have been a Zealot, they’re there to get stuck in with a chainsword and inspire not run around with a plasma gun or ambushing stuff with smoke grendes, but the cosmetic itself is, at least to me, really poor.
The Zealot Krieg skin is WAY better than the Veteran one overall, I actually refunded that one I was so disappointed. Yeah the headpiece is dumb, most Zealot headpieces are, and I’m with ya there, but the rest of it’s okay, I quite like it. The Krieg Veteran cosmetic however has the coat modeled 3 sizes too large, the chest rebreather 3x as big as it should be so it clips all the way through arms and weapons, the gas mask is wrong and clips through the neck, and the backstrap webbing is both incorrect (should be a Y strap) is overly long and and adheres strangely to the curve of the back like a 1999 shooter texture.
This entire thread confuses me. I mean I think the zealot’s cosmetics (up until fairly recently) have been a bit lacklustre. But then I read the thread and people are asking for generic soldiering skins with less religious iconography and I am just super confused.
Its a lunatic religious zealot class for whom the entire combat doctrine is “god will make me win”. These people have limited formal positions in the first place and have deeply ascetic ideas of piety. They intentionally use scavanged gear from the soldiery and whatever religious iconography they can armor themselves in. My entire issue with the cosmetic sets is that they aren’t going hard enough

Yeah I hate the candles because they would just go out when you run around or swing your weapon. And probably fall off too. But if you look at the miniatures they are apparently part of the vibe.
Something about the currently featured Zealot Outfits have a Rust/Call of Duty vibe. And the collectors edition outfits really do feel like Call of Duty for some reason. And then there is that gold/silver Zealot outfit that looks like it belongs in WoW or Destiny.
I think a lot of these kinda thing would look really cool and I do agree they’re not going hard enough in the ways they should. It’s just like all these skull helmets and hoods that don’t look that good. Honestly look like worse version of shade cosmetics.
The purity seal and book is fine but the candles just seem out of place to me when everything else scream generic tacticool soldier. Feel more like they just put it there to make it more apparent that it’s Zealot’s cosmetic.
I’d rather have them just go full swing on either side for each skin, not just do it both ways.
