Break neck development speeds of 3 months for 1 half of a map

As usual, while FS should never have said live service/support, but it doesn’t entail in a specific time frame that the game is meant to get updates.

As much as I dislike the term Live service, it’s basically just meaning: “Game where there is an alternate/additional mean of generating revenue”.

It’s very much the same type of scenario as the Indie games, which by the way, as defined, would also apply to FS. It’s terms that have come from a previous period of games and should be dropped off in favour of new ones that would be more sensible.

I do think the game is overdue for an update. I would at least be appreciative of news of the next thing the team is working on. Probably a rebalance.

Iirc QuickPaw is back at work next week so I would expect comms to start* after that.

I reallly don’t get the mentality, that a game like this needs an update every month or so.

IMO an bigger Update every 3 - 6 month is fine, rather than constant small stuff.

I haven’t finished everything with Hive Ganger yet and I prefer to play the game in a stable state for a while before adapting to new content.

Also every new update means waiting for Mods to be updated and right now I’m happy that everything works on that front.

Me too, but it’s not stable.

Still server errors, crashes on Havoc, no backfilling once the mission is of the grid, etc.

FS should be ashamed of themselves.

I’d rather relatively frequent and constant small non-content patches with content drops spaced out a bit more, so that they can tweak balancing and fixes instead of letting things fester for months or years at a time. But apparently the only thing that is important for them to either automate or have a skeleton crew cycle through is the cosmetics shop, so that shows their priorities.

I would usually agree with you, but there are a lot of bugs right now (lots more than before the Hive Scum release in early December). I’m glad they get time off, but I am on the edge of my seat waiting for some fixes.

Well, about that…

If possible i would prefer not to play another month with a memory leak and busted renderer :+1:

Okay, I agree with that. Actually I think it got worse.

What I mean with “stable” is that I know what to focus on in penances and such and that I know every map so well I could do it blind.

Poor wording on my part.
Sorry, wrote my first post from my phone at work & my autocorrect bleed my creativity white…

Because seasons is a time-proven schedule for a live service games. It’s kinda expected when your game is paid, has mtx shop and paid dlc’s that there will be both quantity and quality.

His Bald Majesty was running one of the most successful live service games (wich is f2p btw, but not rly how much tab you baught exile? Are you still sane) explained it.

Okay, but a season would be every 3 month by definition. Not every month.

Yeah, but not like one update per 6 monthes. Every month there should be some balance tweaking patch. Maybe even more often cause FS rarely nail balance from the first hit.

Please stop spreading misinformation.

The game may have a memory leak, it may not. But that is not evidence of it.

If you start the game, load into the morning star, then quit, you’ll see the same messages totaling several GB. This is because the game does not release the memory just prior to exiting, there is no need to as it will be released when the game exits.

Since the game does not release the memory just prior to exiting it is not possible to draw any conclusions from those log entries.

Okay, since FS made the mistake of labeling this game retroactively a “live service” game, you are right.

IMO it would have been better to do as you say with bug fixes every month, but only drop the big updates every 6 month.
