Weapons will still have stats wich are fixed and RNG. We have zero control of them. The only difference is that: if now a weapon born with its final stats (for example 75% damage and 60% defense)… the same weapons will still have 75 and 60 as percentage, but il will start from 50% attack and 35% defense -for example, of course-
If I’m correct… what do you think? Are you happy this RNG side of stats hasn’t been polished?
Again if I’m correct: why is Fatshark marketing Power System as a new thing, as a better system and less RNG… when it will not be? Rather it will worse: same RNG but more grind to level up the stats
p.s I’m saying that stats’ mechanincs will be worse… of course, the entire Crafting System, much much better
The grind is 90%+ deterministic now. Time in means progress out, both through playing with a weapon family to gain mastery XP or spending mats for weapons to sacrifice. Melk will sell maxed weapons, which means you can “trade” Melk Bucks for materials or mastery XP. And you can recycle purple/orange weapons for plasteel/diamantine.
Brunt will sell less-than-380 weapons (I don’t think we have a sense how far from 380 yet), but all of those weapons can be juiced via Empower, once a sufficient level of Mastery is reached, up to 380 or consecrated and recycled for mats.
No more fishing for blessings, I’d bet big money very little fishing for good max stat spreads, and overall much more choice/agency in the system.
I really hope you are right… but from what I understand, it won’t be possible! The stats will still have a determined cap, just like now, but we will have to grind to reach that cap
The max total stats for every weapon will be 380, so the minimum individual maxed stat on a weapon is 60. Getting a good max spread on a weapon will be trivial.
So the stats will still be RNG but, since we can upgrade every weapon to 380, the worst single stat I can get is 60… so will be much easier find a weapon with high stats. Do I say good?
That’s the gist of it! The RNG that really stings in the current system is gambling for 380s and farming blessings. Both of those issues will be gone in the new system, because you can upgrade any weapon to 380 and unlock all blessings without randomness.
Now you will just need to find weapons with your favoured stat distribution…as the stats themselves will be buffed but they will be equally buffed so you need to find a weapon with the stat ratio you want then can beef them up using the new system.
Because they still believe they can fool people with cool and flashy names.
Ehh, i’m personaly ok kinda. But considering itemization rework should’ve been there ASAP in the first 6 monthes, it’s necessary but not gonna be any sort of fantastic expirience.
For many of players this boat is missed now, but overall it’s healthy for the game.
If there were red weapons with 100% stats this system would be somewhat good.
Not really, but I don’t think that i will mind since now evry weapon can be a 380 and i will be able to know it beforehand what the final stats will be, it will be quite easy to find the weapon with stats distribution that i need.
But it is less RNG.
Before, when getting a weapon from brunt for example, you would have 1 in 80 chance to get a 380 right now, after the update you get 100% 380, you only have to worry about the stats distribution (and it’s rare for a 380 to suck). Melk is gonna sell directly 380 weapons. Yes to empower you need to grind resources, but aren’t we gonna play anyway? It’s not like to collect resources you need to do some tedious tasks like in some random RPG game, you literally get them while playing the content that you enjoy.
I feel it’ll be hard to form a solid opinion until I get the update in my grubby lil’ mitts.
As far as RNG, I’m fine with a bit of it, as a treat. What I’m more concerned about is whether or not they’ll provide any QoL for grinding out high-state-potential weapons. I’m of the mindset that the grind should be playing the game and not faffin’ about in menus. I know they’ve got mods for this stuff, but it really should be a vanilla prerogative.
