For real, is this 2005 ? I have time to bake a freaking egg everytime a loading screen appears.
I imagine most of it is talking with servers and fetching/syncing account data, then loading in data from every other person in the hub and syncing them to you. Could also help if you got the darkcache mod which saves the hub in memory, but it still takes a while to load.
It’s not just an Xbox thing. The loading times are bad on the PC as well.
I know mate. Read the thread for further details.
It’s because the maps run on different servers afaik. So when loading into the mourning star, it disconnects you from the mission server and connects you to the mourning star server. Etc.
As for the mission briefing, I’m convinced they have the loading time be long on purpose so it fits with the speech given, but I could be wrong.
I’ve think that it’s mostly a connectivity / server thing. I’m using the cache mod which should (in theory) cut down on Mourningstar loading times significantly. And sometimes it works flawlessly - I’ll be switching my operative and I’m able to traverse the hub with my new reject in but a few seconds after I’ve made my selection.
On other occasions the loading seems to have stopped entirely (animated, but not doing anything) and it’ll seem to take “forever”. This can ALSO happen after switching the operative. My PCs I/O light is clearly not doing much either.
This leads me to believe the problem is server-side, not client side.
its new feature from this latest patch
They probably spawn containers in a cluster for each session. That’s slow if you have a big base image, which depends on what technology they chose. For instance, if they use Microsoft C# or any Microsoft technology you can expect sub-par performance.
