With the release of the crafting system, the game turns out to have arrived at its final state: game release (as many like to joke).
And what is planned next? New maps, modes, weapons? I would like to understand what to expect in the future

You must have dreamed… they have never and will never release a road map. We ask them that for so many months…
They never will release a big road map, they prefer to remain to elusive and flexible
I’d love to say solo mode, but even I know that Fatshark hates the idea even more than they hate the idea of removing RNG from weapon stats.
Ok my list:
- solo mode (10 minutes work)
- cosmetic rework (for the drip + weapon customization - lot of work)
- new operations maps / new maps / new missions
- new DLC with a new archetype
- new enemy faction
- a balance patch OR a new difficulty (I prefer the first, I guess we will get the second)
- new weapon families (stub pistol, longlas, meltagun) and other variants (last revolver variant, bolt pistols, assault shotguns).
A barrage of new maps, weapons and enemies I hope. Really want to see a new monstrosity asap.
And loads more cosmetics in the comissiary for us to spend dockets on.
few more enemies to spice things up, especially going more nurgle since the atoma-campaign is on for almost two years (time enough to hatch/grow/conjure some plague bearers etc.)

the maps provide ample playground, don´t see no sense in changing the scenery much, so the “where” is covered already in my book.
but the “how” and “who” can change gameplay dramatically depending on the choice of opposition.
although the specifics are unknown, Darktide’s 2nd anniversary is on december 1st, so if there’s going to be an update, it will probably be around that time. it will likely be the last update of the year. last year’s “the traitor curse” update included two new missions, new weapons, and the stims. there might be some info from strawhat next month
depending what “terminator-timeline” you prefer, mine is nov. 17th

Probably three full maps and one special operation per year, same as this year and last year. Averages one new mission every three months.
I am not sure porting to consoles or revamping the crafting system requires many experienced level designers so the number of people making maps is probably not affected by that work.
I put it in quotes for a reason. They made an official posts earlier in the year saying what to expect for the rest of the year. That is as close to a roadmap as we are gonna get I think
au contraire they did, tho they immediately failed to meet any goalposts and even some we never heard of again, and it was effectively buried in less than a month.

If they pull off everything on this list, this game will be the best game I have ever played.
Also if they add a solo mode, I hope they make significant changes to AI
More different environments. Specifically, more outdoor maps with wider spaces.
Whole game feels like I’m fighting in an alley or a sand pit. It’s a grind. Anything that looks different is good.
