Make it peer to peer, implement solo play, give the developement to willing modders and stop making games.
I think it’s time to realise that Fatshark drove this against the wall and there is no coming back for this game.

a psyker without a collar???.. blasphemy!
But lots of folks have been asking for a battlepass. I’ve seen it repeated over the last year but especially ever since HD2 launched.
I don’t get why they are so offensive except for the limited time aspect. They can pretty much just be free goodies like as with DRG and I hear HD2 still involves premium currency but removes the limited time part of it and everyone seems to agree that their implementation is among the better ones.
If they incorporate features like that, I don’t see why it would be an issue.
And even if they don’t, the free tier is still free stuff you get just by playing normally. I remember when Sea of Thieves implemented their season pass. There was a minority of complaints I guess, but mostly it was just free extra progression. In fact, it was so popular and easily finished that they had to lower the premium currency pay-out of the premium tier because almost everyone was clearing it to 100% and the company wasn’t actually making any money on it. And still people were fine with it because, hey, needing to turn a profit, especially on a server-based game is quite understandable.
So I don’t really get where the line is drawn at all.
Why for ? Plenty of people enjoy their game
Just don’t buy them if it put you in that state
Poxburger
No, that whole bit was already there. I know because one of my buddies was geeking out hard over the “new weapons” and I was geeking out over the “new enemies”.
Still, I look forward to Sister Hestia actually having something to do and contributing to the warband.
New enemies is more content than a new weapons for me. More so of its normal enemies (Non monster/Lords) like Plaguebearer
You are playing with destiny in gamba, rotting away while wasting time with it, feel rage and urge to kill when brick your items, and in the end enjoying the game throught the pain. Yeap, 4 chaos gods are involved.
Yep, tons of possibilities with daemons.
I know no one else seems to like my theory about a chaos-tainted minor xenos race (the primary opponent in the Fringe War) arriving on planet to reinforce their Moebian 6th quisling allies, but I think that a completely inhuman (as in not human-shaped) faction could be a lot of fun, especially if the whole race and faction of units are designed from the ground up to fulfill their roles within the horde shooter framework. If that makes any sense. It always sounds better in my head, but some weird crap along the lines of Saruthi would be great.

I’m gonna be frank, Fatshark’s ‘content production’ pipeline is why I hate the idea so vehemently.
HD2 has the correct idea: premium currency purchasing is by no means required, it’s not time limited, and you basically are inundated with it thanks to Major Orders.
Fatshark?
Fatshark is currently selling reskinned cosmetics for $15 apiece in a shop that, if not for the sheer rage of the entire community, would have been a single page every two weeks, better buy em now before they’re gone forever. When changing from that single page to the current option, they decided to insult the intelligence of their player base as the reason for their FOMO nonsense.
Good battle passes exist. Fatshark is not the company to introduce them, though. Not remotely.
That’s kinda impressive. Not only could they not get out an announcement about an update in their own, reasonable (~2 and a half weeks, which seems reasonable to me) and self-set deadline, but they couldn’t even be bothered to quickly make a new news thing apologizing for the delay, they just quietly changed the original post and added a jpeg.
Haha, yeah I think I’m done with this game now, I already haven’t played since December but I think I’m just not even going to bother to check in from time to time anymore.
Who knows, maybe by December of this year there might finally be more content? maybe I’ll check in then…maybe…if I have nothing else to play and feel like playing something to do with 40k.
LMFAO, They cannot even follow through with their own announcements in time, it’s straight up incompetence, seriously, I don’t understand how Tencent keeps these guys. (yea cosmetics and bla bla bla)
How are you all like…this bad? You had 2 1/2 weeks to put together something to hype up your rapidly losing playerbase. Assuming a 40 hour work week, that’s roughly 100 hours to whip something up for us. Couldn’t even manage. Genuinely embarrassing.
You all know how many players you’re losing, especially in comparison to the release cadence of Helldivers. How is there not a fire under your ass to actually like, pick up the pace? What are you all doing over there all day? If I had this low output at my job I’d have been fired ages ago. I know the Fatshark pace has always been slow, but this is so much worse, my lord.
I think I’m honestly done. Even with a crafting update that’s probably going to get inevitably delayed into next year, I’m just so tired of this. I haven’t played for months, and I think that’s it for me. I’m going to go play games where it feels like the devs actually cares about their playerbase. Or, VT2 where it feels like there’s still to this day more support being put into that.
Seems like “Path to redemption” has started with first step being shaky, kekw
I guess I’m the only one, but I’m hyped 0=

It’s even more mind-boggling when one realizes that these studios are literally a half-hour walk apart. Seeing that success every single day at lunch, around town, at the bar after work, etc hasn’t seemingly motivated anything.
I think you misunderstood my post then, as it was not arguing about the semantics of the definition of a battlepass, as I quite literally call the helldivers “premium warbonds” battlepasses.
No, my post was fighting against the notion that; it was a poorly implemented one, and that it wasn’t customer friendly, and that despite being those things people did not care.
If path to redemption is a battle pass, after months of telling that yen falcon guy there would be non in discord, i will actually uninstall if it costs a single cent. i’m not gonna give any more money to fatshark with the state of the game and i will actually consider it an insult if they try.
Update from the Darktide Team 29/03/24
“We are still working on the Announcement and the Dev Blog around our next update ‘Path to Redemption’ and look forward to sharing them with you soon! Here is a sneak peak of what is coming up.”
I know what to expect from Fatshark but even so, how does this keep happening? Is FS management even capable of learning?
